The Police Public Relations Officer in the stare, Mr Joseph Kwaji, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Jalingo the state capital, on Friday that no fewer than 14 persons, including two soldiers, were killed in a renewed violence at Ibi, headquarters of Ibi Local Government Area, on Thursday morning.
The police spokesman said 14 suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident which saw 14 houses razed.
He disclosed that two AK 47 rifles and several other dangerous weapons were recovered from them, but normalcy had returned to the area after a detachment of riot policemen and military were deployed to maintain the peace. While investigation into the cause of the crisis is on-going.
