According tp the story, the night before the murder Adeola also known as Sunday his 30-year-old sister Rukayat and dined with her.
Rukayat was later found dead by her fiancé on Tuesday 15 July, at about 8:30pm.
After his arrest and interrogation by the Police, Adeola said that he did not kill his sister intentionally.
“I didn’t have the intention of killing her, she was my sister. If I wanted to kill her, I wouldn’t leave the knife at the scene and I would wear a glove to prevent my finger prints. The incident happened when we were dragging,” he confessed.
The deceased younger brother Abideen Omotayo, believes Adeola could not have killed their sister alone and pleaded with the Police to further investigate the matter.
“I have an inkling he did not kill our sister alone. He used to be a member of Eiye Confraternity when he was studying at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, but was expelled around 2008 because of his involvement in cultism,” Abideen said.
A resident of the street who pleaded anonymity spoke to PM NEWS said “We got to know of her death Tuesday night, over 24 hours after she was murdered. Her boyfriend only came to visit her on his way back from work when he found her dead and raised the alarm.”
Relatives react to the murder:

Another comment from Salau-Adekola Funmilola Balqees says:
“No matter the offence you committed, they should have forgiven you and not murder you. This is cruelty of the highest order. We only find solace in the fact that God knows best. May Allah forgive your sins and be merciful to you,”
Olajumoke Adelabu posted “A strong lady you were, always ready to withstand all odds. I still remember the last time we saw and all the interesting stuff we chatted about. Omotayo Adedapo Rukayat I wish you were allowed to attain more achievements,”.
