Photos Of 'Supposed' Smollet's Attackers Released!

Following Tuesday, 29th January, 2019's "hate crime" attack, on 36-years-old American Actor, Jussie Smollet, the Police has released photos of men believed to be people of interest.



Smollet, arrived Chigaco late Monday, and was on his way from fetching some something to eat on Tuesday, around 2:am, when two men, wearing what was described to be "ski masks", attacked him, shouting "racial and homophobic slogans".




According to reports, the attackers, hit him around the face area, wrapped a rope round his neck, and poured an unknown substance on his face, before fleeing the scene.

Smollet later got himself to Northern University hospital, while the case is under investigation

"Illegal" Migration Challenge: Italian Court Orders For Salvanimi's Trial!

Going by a recent Italian Court Order, Matteo Salvanimi, Italian Interior Minister, and far-right leader, might face trial, for what the court termed "kidnapping". It was reported, that Salvanimi refused the debarking of immigrants abode a ship which docked on Sicily's Catania Port, for six days.




Salvinimi, is reportedly refusing to give-in, on what was tagged the: "fight for his people, against the scourge of illegal immigration", as his supporters flag off the #SalviniNonMollare .



Search For Emiliano Sala's Missing Air-Craft Called-Off!

Police Authority at Guernsey, reportedly called off the search for the missing private plane, believed to be conveying Cardiff City, Argentine striker, Emiliano Sala, and Pilot, Dave Ibbotson.


The search came to a halt, over the believe that the chances of their survival dwindled. 

The "Piper Malibu" was reported to be en-route Cardiff, Wales, from Nantes, France, when the air craft disappeared from radar on Monday,  January 21st, 2018, over the English Channel.

Abuja Court Of Appeal Declares Donald Duke SPD's Presidential Flag-Bearer!

The Court of Appeal in Abuja, Nigeria's capital city, on Thursday, 24th January, 2019, declared former Governor of Cross-River State, and Presidential aspirant, Donald Duke; the Presidential Candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

It was reported that Donald Duke had 812 votes, against Jerry Gana's 611 votes in the primaries. The High Court of the Federal capital Territory, on December 14, 2018, declared Ex-Information Minister, Jerry Gana, winner of the Party's Presidential Primaries instead. 

The ruling was on the grounds, that according to the Party's agreement, the National Chairman and the Presidential Flag-bearer are not supposed to hail from the same geo-political zone. A ruling, Duke challenged in Court.

The three-man Panel, led by Justice Abdul Aboki, displaced, the lower court ruling, and declared Duke the winner.



Felix Tshisekedi Sworn-In As DRC's New President!

Amidst controversy, and ensuing January 10, 2019 announcement, UDSP's Felix Tshisekedi was on Thursday, 24th January, 2019, sworn in as the new President of Democratic Republic of Congo.

Tshisekedi, succeeds Joseph Kabila, who had ruled DRC since 2001. 
Runner-up, Martin Fayulu's legal challenge, was thrown-out by the country's Constitutional Court, making way for Felix Tshisekedi, to emerge as President.
Felix Tshisekedi reportedly won the elections, with a 38.6% votes, to defeat Martin Fayulu (34.8%), and Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary (23.8%), in December 30th, 2018.

Malindo Air Confirms The Arrest Of Its Cabin Crew, Promises To Aid Investigation!

Following the arrest of its crew member, on arrival, at Melbourne International Airport, by the Australian Federal Police (AFP), on 7th January, 2019; Malindo Air has reiterated its readiness to corporate with all relevant authorities in Australia and Malaysia on the case. The Airline reaffirms it's commitment to ensuring safety and security of passengers.



According to reports, the arrested crew member, was believed to be a part of an international syndicate, which specialises in drug trafficking, using various Airline cabin crews.

Geared Towards 2019 Polls: INEC Invites Nigerians For PVC Collection!


Nigeria's "Independent National Electoral Commission" (INEC) recently notified Nigerians, who registered to obtain their voters card, that between 16th - 21st January, 2019, the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) is expected to be ready for collection.



According to information made available, PVC collection point will be at the Ward/Registration Area from 9am-3pm local time.

Thereafter, the collection will be at INEC LGA offices across the nation, until February 8, 2019.

Bus Reform Initiative To Roll Out In March 2019!

Lagos 'Bus Reform Initiative', a project of the Akinwinmu Ambode led administration is expected to finally kick off in March, 2019.




Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, while inspecting the assembling plant which equally serves as the temporary holding bay for 500 out of the 820 buses, at Awoyaya in Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State, said the initiative was designed to inject 5,000 busses, modern terminals, facilities, ease of mobility for Lagos residents and boost the state's economy.






The initiative, if successfully implemented, is expected to "redefine public transportation" and make the state "globally competitive".

Release of Funds For 'Salary Shortfalls', An End To ASSU Strike?!


Outcome of a recent meeting between the Executive Committee of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and the Nigerian Government, in the capital city, Abuja, indicates that a common ground may have been reached



According to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, majority of NANs demands has been met, including the release of the sum of N15.4bn for payment of salary shortfalls. 

Consequently, the Union is expected to call of the (Academic Union of Universities (ASUU) indefinite strike.
