Three storey building collapsed on a 10 room bungalow, Wednesday night at Tinubu- Lagos!

A three storey building comprising 6 flats at the 2nd and 3rd floor and shops at the 1st and ground floor, owned by a certain late Chief Eletu Toulet; and located at number 16 Ali street, Tinubu- Lagos island, collapsed on 10 rooms bungalow just beside it, on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, killing three occupants and injuring many others.

One of the victims  identified as Bisiriyu Oluwaseun Anotu, a 500 level Business Administration student of the Lagos state University, Ikoyi campus who occupied an apartment on the last floor of the building, told our reporter that she was on a visit to her mother's with her husband and two children when she received a call that their building had collapsed.

Bisiriyu Oluwaseun Anotu (right), and a sympathizer
"I rushed down only to see what used to be our home in shambles. Although we were served notice to vacate the building in August by the Lagos State Government on the ground that the building was not save for habitation,  most of us stayed because we had no where else to go to, moreover our rent was still running. Mine was supposed to expire in December 2013, after which we planned to relocate, we did not anticipate things to turn out this way. I thank God that we were not injured, but we lost all our vital documents, including some large sum of money and my school documents. I want to appeal  to the Lagos State Government to come to our aid, by interfering in the Lagos tenement rates and conditions. I paid the sum of N120,000 just for 'agency and agreement' to rent a N250,000 apartment. It is too high, that is why many of us opted to stay put in un-habitable houses even after being served notice to vacate the building". She stated.

Forbe's list of 15 'Rags to Riches' story!

Guy Laliberté:

According to celebs 101, Laliberte ate fire on the
streets before introducing Cirque du Soleil to the world.

The Canadian-born Laliberté began his circus career
busking on the streets: playing accordion, walking on
stilts and eating fire. He gambled by bringing a successful
troupe from Quebec to the Los Angeles Arts Festival in 1987,
with return fare. The bet paid off, and the circus group was
eventually brought to Las Vegas, where they became the
world famous Cirque du Soleil we know today.
Today, Laliberté is the CEO of Cirque, a professional
poker player and space tourist, with a total worth of
$2.5 billion.

John Paul DeJoria

According to Forbes, lived in his car before John Paul
Mitchell Systems took off.

As a first generation American, DeJoria has it rough
from the beginning. His German and Italian parents
divorced when he was two, and he sold Christmas
cards and newspapers to help support his family before
he turned 10. He was eventually sent to live in a foster
home in Los Angeles.
DeJoria spent some time as an L.A. gang member before
joining the military. After trying his hand as an employee
for Redken Laboratories, he took a $700 loan and created
John Paul Mitchell Systems. He hawked the company's
shampoo door-to-door, living out of his car while doing
so. But the quality of the product could not be denied, and
now JPM Systems is worth over $900 million annually.
He also created Patron Tequila and has a hand in a variety
of industries, from diamonds to music.
Ursula Burns

Going by Bloomberg's account, Ursula grew up in

a housing project on Manhattan's Lower East Side

and now runs Xerox.

Before the Lower East Side was cool, it was a hub
for gangs. Burns was raised by her single mother in
a housing project there. Her mother ran a daycare
center out of her home and ironed shirts so that she
could afford to send Ursula to Catholic school. She
went to NYU, and from there became an intern at Xerox.
She's now Xerox CEO and chairwoman. She's the
first African-American woman to be the head of a
Fortune 500 Company.

Howard Schultz

Mirror news disclosed that Howard grew up in the

Brooklyn projects before discovering, and now

leading, Starbucks

Schultz grew up in the Bayview projects of Canarsie,
Brooklyn. He always wanted to climb "over the fence"
and go beyond the lifestyle provided by his truck-driving
father. Despite destitution, he excelled at sports and
earned a football scholarship to the University of
Northern Michigan.
After graduating with a degree in communications,
Schultz went to work for Xerox before discovering
a small coffee shop called Starbucks. Enamored with
the coffee, he left Xerox to become the company's
chief executive in 1987. After beginning with 60
shops, Starbucks now has over 16 outlets worldwide,
giving Schultz a net worth of $1.1 billion. He even
went on hiatus and came back as CEO to  lead
Starbucks out of a decline.

Li Ka-shing

Harvard Business Publishing reports that  Shing
quit school at 15 to work in a plastics factory
and is now the world's richest East Asian.

The family of Li Ka-shing fled mainland China
for Hong Kong in 1940, and Li's father died of
tuberculosis when  he was just 15. Quitting
school to work to support his family, Li made
plastics and later plastic flowers for  U.S export.
By 1950 Li was able to start his own company,
Cheung Kong Industries. While at first manufacturing
plastics, the company later moved into real estate.
Similarly, Li expanded his ownership of different
companies, and today has his hands in banking,
cellular phones, satellite television, cement
production, retail outlets, hotels, domestic
transportation, airports, electric power,
steel production, ports and shipping, and
investment in cool apps, among other industries.

Francois Pinault
Xfinity reports that Pinault was a high school
dropout who now leads luxury goods group PPR.

Pinault quit high school in 1947 after being teased
for his poor background. He joined his family's
timber trading business and in the 1970s began
buying up smaller firms. His ruthless business
tactics — including slashing jobs and selling his
timber company only to buy it back at a fraction
of the cost when the market crashed — gave him
a reputation as a "predator." He had similar tactics
in the real estate business, and did well buying
French junk bonds and taking government money
to save businesses from bankruptcy.
His self-made worth helped him start PPR, a luxury
goods group that sells brands like Gucci and Stella
McCartney. At one point the richest man in France,
Pinault is now worth a cool $8.7 billion, has historic
homes around the world and is the father-in-law
of actress Salma Hayek.

Leonardo Del Vecchio

According to ForbesVecchio

was an orphaned factory worker

whose eyeglasses empire today

makes Ray-Bans and Oakleys.

Del Vecchio was one of five children
who could not be supported by his widowed
mother. After growing up in an orphanage,
he went to work in a factory making molds
for auto parts and eyeglass frames, where
he lost part of his finger.
At 23, he opened his own molding shop.
That eyeglass frame shop expanded to
the world's largest maker of sunglasses
and prescription eyeware. Luxottica makes
brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley, with 6,000
retail shops like Sunglass Hut and LensCrafters.
His estimated net worth is now above $10 billion dollars.

Kirk Kerkorian

Smart Money Daily  revealed that Kerkorian

went from boxer and Royal Air Force pilot to

Las Vegas mega-resort owner.

Kerkorian, who learned English on the streets,
dropped out of 8th grade to become a boxer.
His family was a casualty of the Great Depression,
and Kerkorian went about finding skills to help bring
income home. He became a daredevil pilot for the
Royal Air Force during World War II, delivering
supplies over the Atlantic on routes that would
crash  one in four planes.
From the money he made running supplies,
Kerkorian became a high roller on the craps
table and eventually a real estate magnate in
Las Vegas: he bought The Flamingo and built
The International and MGM Grand, stalwarts of
the Vegas scene. His net worth today is at $16
billion dollars.

Sheldon Adelson
Minyanville revealed is another Las Vegas hotels
magnate who tried his hand at a few industries.
Adelson grew up in tenement housing Massachusetts,
where he shared a bedroom with his parents and
three siblings.  His father was a Lithuanian taxi
driver and his mother had a knitting store.
When he was 12 years old, he started selling
newspapers and a few years later ran a vending
machine scheme on the same corner.
Adelson tried his hand at a few different industries,
from packing hotel toiletries to mortgage brokering.
His biggest break came from developing a computer
trade show. He turned that wealth into a purchase
of the Sands Hotel & Casino, and later the mega-resort The Venetian.

Ingvar Kamprad

Smart Money Daily disclosed  Kamprad was born
in a small village in Sweden and created a mail-order
business that became IKEA.

Kamprad lived the farm life growing up.
But he always had a knack for business,
buying matches in bulk from Stockholm
to sell to his neighbors. He later expanded
to fish, Christmas decorations, and pens.
Not satisfied with the small stuff, Kamprad
took money from his father (a reward for good grades)
and created a mail-order business that eventually
became IKEA (the name comes from his initials
plus those of his village and family farm).
Furniture became the company's biggest
seller, and Kamprad's use of local manufacturers
kept his prices low. Once one of the world's richest,
his value has fallen recently to a still-amazing $6 billion.

Roman Abramovich
According to Hubpages, Roman was an orphan
who turned an expensive wedding gift into an oil empire.
After his parents died when he was just four,
the Russian Abramovich was raised by his uncle
and grandmother . Abramovich got his first break
from an expensive wedding gift from his in-laws.
He dropped out of college to pursue his entrepreneurial
interests, which at first included selling plastic ducks
out of an apartment in Moscow.
He managed a take over of oil giant Sibneft at a
bargain price in 1995. He continued to flip his
investments into even larger acquisitions,
including Russian Aluminum and steelmaker
Evraz Group. Over the years Abramovich has
been accused of shady dealings, from paying
out bribes and protection money to having a
role in the gang feuds over aluminum smelters.
It seems that being ruthless has paid off for the
billionaire: he now owns the largest private
yacht in the world, as well as a ton of other cool stuff.

Richard Desmond
The Observer states that Desmond went from
living above a garage to creating an empire
that published magazines like Penthouse.
Desmond grew up the son of a single mother
after his parents divorced. The two of them
lived above a garage, during which time
Desmond described himself as "very fat and
very lonely." He quit school at 14 to focus on
being a drummer, working as a coat-checker
to help pay bills. Though he never became rich
from his own musical talents, he later opened
his own record shops.
Eventually Desmond published his first magazine,
International Musician and Recording World.
The Desmond magazine empire would expand
to publications like a British version of Penthouse
and Ok!, a worldwide favorite. He now owns
publications around the globe and is involved
in philanthropic work.

J.K. Rowling

Her Biography revealed that Rowling lived on

welfare before creating the Harry Potter franchise.

In the early 1990s, Rowling had just gotten
divorced and was living on welfare with a
dependent child. She completed most of
the first "Harry Potter" book in cafes, as
walking around with her daughter, Jessica,
was the best way to get her to sleep.
The "Harry Potter" franchise has become a
worldwide success and J.K. Rowling is now
worth an estimated $1 billion.

Sam Walton

His Biography revealed  Sam milked cows
and sold magazines in Oklahoma before
he founded Wal-Mart.
Walton's family lived on a farm in Oklahoma
during the Great Depression. In order to make
ends meet, he helped his family out by milking
the cow and driving the milk out to customers.
He also delivered newspapers and sold magazine
subscriptions.
By 26, he was managing a variety store after
graduating from the University of Missouri with
a B.A. in economics. He used $5,000 from the
army and a $20,000 loan from his father-in-law
to buy a Ben Franklin variety store in Arkansas.
He expanded the chain, and then went on to
found Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. He died in
1992, leaving the company to his wife and children.

Oprah Winfrey

According to Academy of Achievement,

Oprah turned a life of hardship into

inspiration for a multi-billion-dollar empire.

Oprah spent the first six years of her life
living with her grandmother wearing dresses
made out of potato sacks. After being
molested by two members of her family
and a family friend, she ran away from
home at age 13. At 14, her newborn child
died shortly after he was born. She went
back to live with her mother, but it wasn't
until her mother sent her to live with her
father that she turned her life around.
She got a full scholarship to college,
won a beauty pageant —where she
was discovered by a radio station —
and the rest is history. The Oprah
name became an empire, and
according to Forbes she is worth $2.7 billion.

Late Prophet Ajanaku's Close Aide Speaks…He Was A Liar, Cheat, Swindler & Adulterer!

Another shocking revelation has surfaced on the late Prophet Ireti Ajanaku. One of his close aides who worked for him for five years, Emmanuel Olasemeji who is a furniture maker, chatted with Encomium Weekly (magazine) on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, about the real Prophet Ajanaku he knew and worked with.
Emmanuel Olasemeji

How did you become one of late Prophet Ajanaku’s aides?
The first day I saw him, I was not attracted to him because of his physical look. He bleached. However, when my boss who was one of his church members introduced me to him, he prayed for me. My decision to visit his church was based on curiosity. That was in 2007. Sincerely, there is noway you won’t marvel at his preaching. He preached with persuasive and authoritative words.
I was wowed. And that was when he was about completing his multi-million naira mansion. And most of the church members volunteered to assist the builders. He asked me to work for God in his house and do the furniture.
I can’t lie to you, when Prophet Ajanaku spoke you would think it was God. His church members saw him as god. He often told us that he wines and dines with God and that if he wants anybody to die tomorrow, it would happen. We all respected and feared him. You dare not say no to his request. He said he had the power to save someone from ultimate death.
My decision to open up was not to malign his character but be factual. Even before his death, I confessed this feat openly to him. I can’t doubt his power but not as a Christian.
For instance, someone came to see him. He said some people predicted he was going to die at a certain date. Thus, he was warned not to go out. Prophet Ajanaku closed his eyes for a minute and the next moment said the man should go out that day that nothing would happen to him. And nothing happened to him indeed.
I can say that though he was very powerful but his lifestyle and character were questionable.

How many months did you work in his house?
I stayed inside his house for nine months to complete the whole job. The reason was that most of the job was done at night. He won’t allow you to work on the upper parts of the house during day time until he gave you the nod. And mostly at night. If you complained that it would disturb people staying with him, he would say as the owner, all I needed was his approval.
How would you describe him? Although he wielded spiritual power but he was not a man of God. The bubble burst some years back when one of his personal aides, Mr. Adefeso traveled with him to South Africa on a missionary assignment. The aide is quite educated. He is an elderly person. That was in November 2010. And there is one thing about prophet, whenever he is angry with anybody, he would tell the church members that God is angry with such person and that anybody that relates with such a person would incur the wrath of God.
Thus, once you incur his wrath, the whole church would stop greeting you. Before they travelled to South Africa, there was an issue on ground. He was renovating the church. He engaged the services of one of his church members who sold woods and planks to supply the church.
I supervised the project and it was N750,000. He was to pay after the project. After the project, he refused to pay. And the member knew it wrecked his small business. It became an issue and it was his personal aide, Mr. Adefeso who waded in and said prophet would pay. That was when they travelled to South Africa. When they got back, we discovered they had an issue.
The aide claimed he discovered some of his secrets while on the trip but till date refused to disclose them. However, when prophet came back, he quickly started telling us the man was evil, that we should excommunicate him. I know him well, once he knew you had discovered some of his negative acts, he would blackmail you with lies. That was the same thing he did for Tope Alabi.
What are the things you discovered about him?
First, he is a chronic liar. Do you know that the money he owed he never paid back? The matter was taken to the police at Panti and he denied owing the man. He said he has paid him. I was shocked. They called me as a witness. Though I was scared but I stood for the truth. He spent over N500,000 to settle the case. And at the end we even became the victim. He specialized in turning the tide against people who speak the truth.
He would fabricate lies against such person. And the medium he used most was a soft-sell magazine. Second, I can tell you authoritatively that he sleeps with his female aides who stay in his house. He has agents who recruit ladies in the church who are not employed.
They used their situation to entice them to work and live with the prophet. And some only live with him for like three months before he would fabricate lies against them and send them parking. But none of them could disclose their ordeal because he was a god.
But what about his wife?
His wife, Joy, was staying in the upper room. She only comes down during church services. That’s why most people don’t really know anything about her. She dares not come down unless he gave approval.
We only discovered the truth when one of the ladies who was also the wife’s aide known as Becky confessed to a pastor at Abuja that he was sleeping with her. She was dating a friend of mine who was also staying in his house. The house is so big and many of us lived with him. My friend and Becky travelled to Abuja and he introduced her to a pastor in Abuja. That one now said Becky has a secret and unless she revealed it, it would affect their relationship. It took her four days to open up that she has been sleeping with late Ajanaku. She was scared she would die after the confession but with prayer in Abuja, nothing happened to her. Although we were suspicious but she gave us instances which we were aware of and revealed how other girls too were his sex slaves.
Also, most of his members go to the church with their wealth but left poor. He was very rich. He swindled them of their wealth and virtues.
Though we have never seen him with charm before but he often told us he knows about all incantations because he had been into all sorts of occultism before he started his ministry.
He said they are all powerless compared to God’s power. He is a pretender. Once he was about to discard his enemies, he would say negative things about them and since we were not privileged to see or hear from God, we believed him. That’s what he used on those girls too. He bleached and encouraged the girls too to use the cream. I had to leave in 2011. I spent five years with him.
Is it true that he once had a wife?
Yes. It’s no secret that he had a wife and two kids who died before he started the ministry. Aside that, he had a baby out of wedlock, but he rejected the mother.
What’s the woman’s name?
I don’t know because he was even the one who revealed it to us when the mother came to collect the boy’s allowance of N20,000. Only few aides knew. I was so close to him because I worked for him.
He had four rooms in that house which are exclusively his own. He had a particular room that if he was there for three months you won’t know.
On Friday, September 20, 2013, National Encomium contacted the ministry’s spokesperson, Tosin, over some of these allegations but he declined to make any comment. “Please, I have nothing to say.”

The late Prophet Elijah Ireti Ajanaku of Christ Victory Chapel International, located in Baruwa, Ayobo-Ipaja, Lagos State, Nigeria died in his home town of Gbogan, Osun State, on Saturday, August 17.
According to information, the man had been ill and a nurse was brought to treat him. She gave him sedative to help him sleep on Saturday evening, and when his aides went to wake him up for Sunday service the following morning, they found him dead.
He reportedly died in his sleep between Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

The incident horrified the Chinese public.
Han Lei, 39, reportedly told prosecutors he felt so guilty and distressed that he wanted to die, the Beijing News reported.
"I caused such a calamity for the child... please make sure that I am sentenced to death," it quoted him as saying. "I don't want to live any more."

Three Female Undergraduates Beaten to Coma for Stealing Ladies Pants in Asaba!

Nigeria:

Three female undergraduates of the Delta State University (Abraka) were reported to have been beaten to a state of coma on Thursday by angry market women who sell wares at the popular Ogbegonogo market in Asaba, Delta State Nigeria.

3 Female Undergraduates Beaten to Coma for Stealing Ladies Pants in Asaba

Offense committed  by the three undergraduate student was that they allegedly stole various pants at the boutique line. Some eyewitnesses said that the suspects were caught with the pants after they had pretended to be customers and paid for two different under wares ones selected from the hangers.

It was also gathered that the three female undergraduates were said to be regular visitors to the market.
But the trust the traders have in them as regular customers evaporated when one of them, a 200 level mass communication student (names withheld) sought to be accompanied to where they could buy good pants and the suspects paid for two packets of mixed coloured pants and in the process allegedly removed three other packets alongside the ones they bought.
Luck however ran out on them as the trader suddenly noticed the removal of some packets from where they were displayed.

They were said to have been beaten severely by the angry market women who raced to the scene of the incident. Police authorities at the ‘A’ Division Asaba confirmed the incident.

Kenya mourns Westgate siege victims!

Kenya has begun three days of national mourning following the end of the four-day siege by Islamist militants on Nairobi's Westgate shopping centre.
In a televised address, President Uhuru Kenyatta said six members of the security forces were among 67 people who had died.
Declaring the siege over, he said five militants had been killed and 11 other suspects arrested, reports the BBC.
R/V blog
As the clearing of the mall continues, the number of dead is expected to rise.
Several bodies, including those of some attackers, are thought to be trapped under rubble after three floors of the building collapsed following a blaze.
Kenya's Standard newspaper reported that tens of bodies were removed from the building on Tuesday evening.
Correspondents say the shopping centre lay largely silent overnight and light smoke was still drifting from the building.
Journalists and onlookers were kept behind a security cordon but police let some people retrieve cars from the scene.
In his address, the president praised the response of ordinary Kenyans, calling it exemplary and overwhelming.
"We have ashamed and defeated our attackers," he said. "Kenya has stared down evil and triumphed."
He did not confirm earlier reports that some of the attackers were US and British.
"Intelligence reports had suggested that a British woman and two or three American citizens may have been involved in the attack," said Kenyatta.
"We cannot confirm the details at present. Forensic experts are working to ascertain the nationalities of the terrorists."
He added: "These cowards will meet justice, as will their accomplices and patrons, wherever they are."
At least 18 foreigners are among the dead. They include six Britons as well as citizens from France, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Peru, India, Ghana, South Africa and China.
About 175 people were wounded including 62 who remain in hospital.
Somali Islamist group al-Shabab said it had carried out the attack in retaliation for Kenyan army operations in Somalia.
The militants stormed the Westgate centre on Saturday, throwing grenades and firing indiscriminately on shoppers and staff.
"Now it is for the forensic and criminal experts," said police spokesman Masoud Mwinyi.
A Twitter post from al-Shabab on Tuesday dismissed claims that women were involved in the attack.
The group said: "We have an adequate number of young men who are fully committed and we do not employ our sisters in such military operations."
Al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaeda, has repeatedly threatened attacks on Kenyan soil if Nairobi did not pull its troops out of Somalia.
There are about 4,000 Kenyan troops in the south of Somalia as part of an African Union force supporting Somali government forces.
Al-Shabab is fighting to create an Islamic state in Somalia.
Despite being pushed out of key cities in the past two years, it remains in control of smaller towns and large swathes of the countryside.
UN special representative for Somalia Nicholas Kay called on Tuesday for a fresh surge in African troops to Somalia to counter an estimated 5,000 al-Shabab fighters.

Front gate of the church
It was gathered that Police detectives alleged the man of God was attempting to bury the remains of the yet-to-be-identified child when police operatives from Idimu Police Station swooped on him.

The Church, known as Christ Gospel Apostolic Church, is located at 32/34 Karimu Ilaka Street in Egbeda area of Lagos State.

The pastor, identified as Dare Adewole, was reportedly initially detained at Idimu Police Station but had since been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigative Department of the Lagos State Police Command in Panti, Yaba.

Some his neighbors said they had always been suspicious of the pastor.
One of them said: “People had always doubted his sincerity of being a man of God due to the way he behaves.”

Lagos Police Commissioner: Umar Manko
Roving informant gathered that the acting image maker in charge of the state Police Command, Damasus Ozoani, confirmed the incident.

Ozoani added: “It is true the police have made arrests but I cannot tell you the number of arrests.

“The case is beyond what the division can handle.
“It has been transferred to the State CID, Panti.”

Ozoani further stated that the Police is yet to identify the two-year-old girl.
