Nigerian Mission in Lebanon Demands That Slave Trade Victim Be Returned To The Mission In Good Health!

Update on Lebanese who put up a Nigerian girl for sale on Facebook: According to Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Lebanese Government has issued a statement describing the act as illegal, inhuman, even as it promises to prosecute the offender for trafficking.

It will be recalled that a man who resides in Beirut- Lebanon and identified as  Jerro, recently put up the passport of a Nigerian lady identified as Busari Peace, on a Facebook group- ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon’.
  
The advert read: “Domestic worker from Nigeria for sale with new legal documents. She’s 30 years old, she’s very active and very clean. Price: $1,000,” the user wrote in Arabic.

The page and post were later deleted but not until Facebook users already took snapshots. 
The Nigerian mission in Lebanon has demanded that the girl be returned in good health to the mission.

Reacting to this, the Lebanese government has announced the arrest of Mr. Wael Jerro for further prosecution on the crime.

#covid19: Nigeria Records 19 New Cases!

The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported nineteen new cases of the Corona virus
Lagos - 14
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) - 2, 
Kano - 1
Akwa Ibom - 1
Edo state - 1.

According to NCDC, as at 09:20 pm, 14th April, 2020,  there are 362 confirmed cases of #covid19 reported in Nigeria. 99 have been discharged with 11 deaths.

UN Donates Ventilators & Personal Protective Supplies To Nigeria!

To help countries scale up testing, treat more patients, and ensure health workers are protected, the United Nations embarked on the distribution of medical supplies for frontline health workers in all African countries.

Consequently, on Tuesday, 14th April, 2020, Nigeria received ventilators and personal protective supplies to help in the combat against the corona virus pandemic.
