The Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper reports that 28-year-old Laura Whitehurst on Wednesday entered guilty pleas to six of 41 charges against her. She had faced up to 29 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
Whitehurst is a former teacher at Citrus Valley High School in Redlands. Prosecutors contend she began a sexual affair with a student last summer when he was 16. She gave birth last month.
Whitehurst also was accused of having sex several years ago with two students, who are now adults.

Armed Zimmerman stopped for speeding in Texas!

George Zimmerman was stopped for speeding over the weekend in North Texas, and he told the officer he had a gun, according to reports Wednesday.
George Zimmerman
Zimmerman, who was acquitted two weeks ago of killing Trayvon Martin, was pulled over about 1 p.m. CT Sunday on Highway 80 in Forney, CBS DFW-TV reported. He was driving a Honda pickup and said he was headed "nowhere in particular," according to TMZ, which first reported the news, citing sources.

Armed: George Zimmerman was pulled over on the road in Forney, Texas and it was revealed that he had a gun in a glovebox
When Zimmerman said he was armed, the officer told him to put the gun in the glove compartment, the CBS affiliate said, citing the police report. TMZ's report claimed that Zimmerman said the gun was in the glove box.
Neither reported the type of firearm Zimmerman had.
Zimmerman asked the officer whether he recognized him from television and the officer said he did not, both outlets reported.
After checking for any outstanding warrants, the officer let Zimmerman go with a warning.
"Have a safe trip," the officer told Zimmerman, according to TMZ.
The five-minute stop was captured on the officer's dashboard camera.
Zimmerman's gun was not the one he used to kill the 17-year-old Florida teen during a February 2012 altercation. As part of a civil rights investigation, the U.S. Justice Department has taken all evidence from the trial, including the licensed 9mm semiautomatic pistol that Zimmerman said he used in self-defense.

In response to speculation that this traffic stop may have given a clue to Zimmerman's location, his brother Robert Zimmerman Jr. said that his family respond to rumors about his whereabouts every day.
He added that they go to great lengths to ensure their safety in accordance with the law.
CBS Dallas Fort Worth have claimed that the officer did not recognize Zimmerman, who has been at the center of a nationwide controversy since he was found not guilty of the second-degree murder and manslaughter of Trayvon Martin earlier this month.

Nicki Minaj Says DJ Khaled’s Proposal Was a Joke!

When we told you about DJ Khaled's video proposal to Nicki Minaj last week, we acknowledged the possibility that it was all just a goof. Turns out that was the case.

Nicki Minaj Engaged Or Publicity Stunt? DJ Khaled Met With Restraining Order

Minaj called into Funkemaster Flex's radio show on New York's Hot 97 on Monday night to spill the beans that Khaled's viral video proposal, including a 10-carat engagement ring, was all just a joke.

"I was shocked just like the rest of the world, and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world, 'cause Khaled is a master as what he does," she said. "He's a DJ, hypeman, entrepreneur, all of those wrapped in one."

Minaj went on to reveal that the whole thing was a publicity stunt to hype up his forthcoming album Suffering From Success and the single "I Wanna Be With You," which features Minaj, Future and Rick Ross. "It was just another way for him to kinda give the world a glimpse on the feeling of this record," she said.

Finally, Minaj stomped on any possibility that there was romance between the two, saying, "Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, y'all. Please let it go. He was kidding. He's not attracted to me; he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister."

While Minaj dismissed it all on Monday, over the weekend Khaled was keeping the ruse alive when he called into DJ Felli Fel's show on Los Angeles' Power 106. "She might say yeah tonight or tomorrow, she might say yeah next year," he said. "What am I gonna do, give up? Never. I ain't never give up on nothing I do."

But after Minaj's interview he seemed to offer his seal of approval, tweeting, "Salute @NICKIMINAJ!!! …Bringing the excitement back to the game!"

Conductor on phone at time of deadly crash - Spain Investigators!

Emergency personnel respond to the scene of a train derailment in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

A Spanish court says "black box" data recorders show that a train conductor was on the phone and traveling at 95 mph (153 kph), almost twice the speed limit, when the vehicle derailed, killing 79 people.

Investigators say the train had been going as fast as 119 mph (192 kph) shortly before the derailment and that the conductor activated the brakes "seconds before the crash."

In a statement, the court said Tuesday that the conductor was talking on the phone to an official of national rail company Renfe when the crash happened and apparently was consulting a paper document at the time.

The conductor, Francisco Jose Garzon Amo, has been provisionally charged with multiple counts of negligent homicide.

7-Yr-Old Boy Repeatedly defiled By Teacher For 6 Mths!

Local police in Wuxue, Hubei Province, said on Monday that they are still investigating the case where a 7-year-old boy got sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) after allegedly being molested by a math teacher for six months, China.

“We started to look into the case after Peng turned to us on Thursday,” Zhang Guosheng, a police officer from Longping county, was quoted Monday by the Traffic and Economic Radio in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

The boy’s mother, surnamed Peng, exposed the case Saturday to the radio station in Hangzhou, where she had previously worked. She said that police had stalled the investigation and she had no choice but to make it public.
Peng said that her son, a first grader at the elementary school in Shadun village in the county, was lured with snacks offered by a third grade math teacher surnamed Huang, 30. She said Huang abused the boy in many locations, including the school’s men’s room.

“My son also told me the positions in which he was forced to have an*l s*x. Two other classmates, a girl and another 7-year-old boy, were also harassed by Huang,” said the mother, adding that after Huang found the victim to be suffering private part warts and an*l bleeding, he started to prey on the next student.

A medical checkup by the Guangzhou-based Nanfang Hospital earlier this month showed that the boy suffers from several venereal diseases. “ the mother said, adding that she dMy son has to go to pee every one minute, sometimes he cannot control himself and wets his pants,”ecided to take her son for treatment in Wuhan, capital of Hubei.
Zhang said police had taken the boy to identify the scenes where he was assaulted and are currently trying to contact the other alleged victims.
“The investigation will take 10 days,” Zhang said.  An unnamed official with the city’s education bureau said that they have to wait for the results of the police investigation before taking action.

Li Ying, a lawyer with the Beijing-based Juntai Law Firm, told the Global Times that the male teacher, if convicted, is likely to receive a lighter penalty for sexually harassing a boy than for a girl.

“According to criminal law, the suspect can be sentenced up to death on r*pe charges if the molestation is on a girl. However, the suspect will only be indicted for sexually assaulting a boy aged below 14,” said Li.
Li added that she thought this was unfair as “damage from s*xual assault at such a young age will last for a whole lifetime.”

Scores killed has multiple bomb blasts hit Kano!

The first explosion occurred around 9.12 p.m on Monday night near Ibo/Enugu Road by the International Hotel in Sabongari and then just a few minutes later another went off on New Road, opposite the Emir Ado Bayero Square at about 9.15 p.m.
The bomb explosions are suspected to have been detonated by terrorists despite on-going peace talks and some reports hold that about four bombs went off in the neighborhood.
A resident of the area told the Punch news on the telephone that there were series of explosions which had created pandemonium in the state capital saying the explosions were still on-going as at 10:pm, and there had been at least two explosions before the latest one at about 9:30 pm.
AFP reports that “at least four explosions” had occurred. “There was confusion all over the place. There were four huge explosions, so huge that they shook the whole area. Everywhere is enveloped in smoke and dust,” Chinyere Madu, a fruit vendor, told AFP.

Music video director Aswad Ayinde jailed 90 yrs for fathering 6 kids with his own daughters!

Music video director Aswad Ayinde, 55, who won an MTV award for directing The Fugees' 'Killing Me Softly' in 1996, has been sentenced to 90 years in prison for repeatedly raping his six daughters and fathering six children with them.

Aswad Ayinde is accused of raping his daughters to create a "pure" bloodline, fathered six kids with them from the mid-1980s to 2002 - and delivered the babies himself, the court heard during his trial last Friday
"He said the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen," his ex-wife, Beverly Ayinde testified at a pre-trial hearing.
Prosecutors said Ayinde kept the kids from blabbing about the rape by beating them and isolating them from other children. All his daughters were home schooled.
"I was afraid to ever accuse him of being demented or being a pedophile," Beverly Ayinde, who had 9 children with him told the court. "I knew the word, but I wouldn't dare use it because it would result in a beating."
Prosecutors revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having sex with his second daughter from the time she eight-years-old, impregnating her four times. He faces three more trials over the alleged assaults.

Suswam urges parents- monitor your children against homosexuality!

Against the backdrop of sexual immorality and indecency in the society, the Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has called on parents to monitor the activities of their children, in order to prevent them from engaging in homosexual acts.
Governor Gabriel Suswam
According to him, ever since gay marriage was accepted in the western world, the trend which was hitherto alien to Nigeria has become an issue.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service held in honour of his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Beatification, Dorcas Depuun at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, North Bank, Makurdi, Suswam said the act was not only satanic but an act against the laws of God.
The Governor charged parents and guardians to closely monitor their wards who take more pleasure in the same-sex relationship other than the opposite as they could be practising homosexuals.
These things are happening out there with our children right here in Makurdi; it is a disease; a hormonal problem. I get headaches from hearing such issues. As long as these people use their functions for the purpose other than that for which it was created by God, then it’s not right because all things created by God are perfect".
While expressing worry about the culpability of the older generation in what he described as an abomination, the Governor wondered what would become of the country if same-sex marriages were allowed.
Then the aim of producing children as commanded would be defeated.”
He appealed to religious leaders to continue to speak out against same-sex marriages as many of them possess strong influence over the people.

How Young JSS Girls Are Used As Sex Slaves In Lagos!

It will shock you how this young girls (teenagers) are turned into sex slaves in underground cartels:

"I was in JSS3 at the time, and I was too young to understand anything. So, when I became pregnant, I told my boyfriend about it, but he denied it and ran away. That was how I stopped going to school. After about two years, I came to Lagos to hustle. One aunty then introduced me to this business."

Martha is a 15-year-old girl endowed with beauty but...
She faces a very bleak future as she is held captive in a brothel in Gbagada, a suburb of Lagos, where she has to sleep with men old enough to be her father and surrender her entire earnings to a woman designated as her aunty. In return, the aunty gives Martha a sum she deems sufficient to cater for her basic needs.

The more than two decades old brothel is located close to Sawmill Bus-stop in Gbagada. In it resides a cartel of mature prostitutes called aunties, to whom younger girls like Martha are responsible. The older prostitutes act as guardians to the younger ones aged between 14 and 19 years. Most of the girls are said to have been lured to Lagos from Edo and Delta states by their aunties. With a promise of the good life, the girls follow the aunties to Lagos only to be lured into prostitution.

The cartel’s mode of operation is similar to those that have been reported about innocent Nigerian girls lured into prostitution in Europe. The girls, who are mostly from poor parental backgrounds and broken homes, serve their aunties for as long as two years before they are deemed matured enough to stand on their own.

A source in the hotel told our correspondent that for a newly recruited girl to become a member of the prostitution ring, her aunty has to pay the sum of N50,0000 to the proprietor of the brothel as registration fee. After that, the aunty makes the young girl to sleep with older men. All the proceeds from her sexual activities go to the aunty who decides how much is returned to the young girl as “pocket money”.

Our correspondent visited the hotel on a sunny day last week and met one of the girls named Martha, an indigene of Delta State. She was decked in a gown that barely covered her backside. Like a famished tigress, she rushed towards the reporter, offering him sex. After a brief discussion, she led the reporter to the brothel’s bar and was quickly joined by three of her colleagues.

Martha was the first to order for a bottle of a popular herbal drink called Alomo Bitters. With promise of a long-term friendship from the reporter, she opened up on her past and her dreams, narrating how she became a sex worker in the hotel.

Surprisingly, she doubles as an apprentice hairdresser, hoping to settle down into hairdressing business someday. But for now, she is under contract to serve her aunty for 11 more months, during which she must hand over her entire earnings.

Martha said: “My aunty is very nice. She gives me money, depending on how much I make in a day. I am from Delta State, and I am learning to become a hairdresser. I will leave next year after my service. After that, I will open a shop and become a businesswoman.”

It took her no time to finish her drink and order for another bottle. At this stage, the discussion became livelier, as the four girls freely talked about their lives as prostitutes in the brothel.

I am very brave,” said Martha, beating her chest as she spoke. “I can take on as many men as are available at a time.”

But going by her confessions, she is an endangered species. Besides the meager nature of her income, she is daily exposed to the danger of being defrauded or physically assaulted by the men that patronize her. Only a few days earlier, she lost her cell phone, which she said she bought for N32, 000, to a client from whom she had only reaped N2,000.

She said: “The man stole my phone after paying me N2,000. I called the number and he picked it, but claimed that the phone belonged to him.”

Asked if she was not afraid of contracting HIV/AIDS, she said she had received enough lessons on how to protect herself against sexually transmitted diseases and other dangers that come with her trade. She said apart from insisting that her clients must wear condom, she had been taught not to get carried away when entertaining them.

The first thing they taught us was that men are cunning, and that we should be very careful with them. We also go for medical check-ups regularly. But one thing is that we don’t sleep with men without condoms,” she said.

Martha is not alone in this modern day slavery. She has a partner in soft-spoken Janet, an indigene of Edo State. At 17, the second child in a family of seven says she took to prostitution because she wanted to make a success of her life.

In her barely audible voice, she said she was forced to go into prostitution because her elder sister was not discharging her responsibilities towards their parents. She is expected to gain her freedom in November, when she would have served her aunty for more than one year.

She told a pathetic story of the events that led her into prostitution, saying that unlike Martha, she plans to go back to school.

I want to go back to school. I came here because there was nothing else for me to do. But once I finish serving my aunty, I will leave this place completely and make sure that I go back to school,” she said.

Interestingly, Janet is in the business with her cousin, 15-year-old Pat. Evidently more daring and outspoken than her two other colleagues, Pat declared that she wanted the reporter to have a relationship with the three of them. “I like you. If you no mind, all of us fit be your friend,” she said, her colleagues nodding in affirmation while she continued to do justice to the bottles of Climax energy drink in front of her.

A quick tour of the brothel revealed that it contained 54 rooms, each allocated to an aunty. While a first-time visitor would only notice the front gate and the rear gates, a closer observation would reveal other entry and exit points.

The arrangement of the rooms makes it difficult for a non-regular visitor to master the terrain. The source at the hotel said the arrangement was meant to conceal the activities of the prostitutes.

According to the source, 14 of the rooms are allocated to teenage prostitutes while the rest are occupied by their older and more experienced aunties.

At Room 19, a busty lady, probably in her 30s, sat on a stool by the door. Asked why she was idle at that time of the day, she said she was waiting for prospective clients, adding that business had been dull because of the Ramadan period.

She jumped up at the reporter’s suggestion of a deal. After a quick negotiation, she agreed to take N750, down by N250 from the N1,0000 she demanded initially.

A visit to Room 32 revealed that the occupant was one of the aunties named Faith, from Edo State. She agreed to give a younger girl to the reporter for a fee to be agreed. But she argued that she was capable of anything the younger girls could offer.

Upon the reporter’s insistence, she dashed to Room 30, where some of her girls were sleeping at the time. The lot fell on 19-year-old Sarah, who quickly went to another room to prepare the bed.

The innocent-looking girl felt disappointed when she returned moments later and was told that the reporter had changed his mind, but with a promise to come back later in the evening. She ran back into the room, ostensibly to steal a few minutes of sleep before another client would come knocking.

Such has been the lot of the young girls in the brothel. They take care of the sexual needs of their clients at night and give the proceeds to the aunties. Yet the little time they have to rest or in the day time is repeatedly punctuated by clients who stroll in, in the day.

A funny incident had occurred at the brothel the previous night. Encouraged by the hotel source, the reporter had stormed the hotel at exactly 8:30 pm, hoping to take pictures of the girls’ activities. One needed no one to tell him that one had stepped into an ‘unholy’ ground. From one room to the other, both the young and the old prostitutes showcased their ‘wares’ with skimpy dresses.

One of them named Jessica said she had been expecting a customer for more than two hours without luck. The reporter’s arrival therefore gave her the hope of making some money, which she said had been scarce since the commencement of Ramadan  Jessica, who claims to be a mother of one, lamented the lull that had occasioned the fasting period. She also said she had been unlucky with her love life.

According to her, she had her child, who is now 11 years old, after she was put in the family way by her boyfriend. The man later denied the pregnancy, leaving her and her poor family to cater for the boy.

She said: “I was in JSS3 at the time, and I was too young to understand anything. So, when I became pregnant, I told my boyfriend about it, but he denied it and ran away. That was how I stopped going to school. After about two years, I came to Lagos to hustle. One aunty then introduced me to this business.”
But in spite of all that she has been through, Jessica insists she has no regrets about her past. “What is there for me to regret now?” she asked rhetorically.

It is now more than a decade that Jessica took the unholy path of selling her body for money, but both joy and wealth, the twin reasons she opted for prostitution, have eluded her. Rather she has had an unsettled life, with no decent home or man to call her own.

While denied having any regret, it was obvious that Jessica was not the happiest of women. Her expectations from the trade were far from being met. Unfortunately, she has no other profession to turn to.

She said: “Let me confess, I thought I would have made it more than this. At a point, I even tried to travel to Italy, but the aunty who wanted to help me stole all the money that I saved. She asked me to bring N500, 000, promising to take me to Italy. I was able to raise about N400, 000, which I gave to her. But after that day, I never saw her again. If I didn’t lose that money, I might have stopped this business by now.”

For Jessica and the other young girls in the brothel, the future looks bleak. What with their meager daily earnings, most of which they spend on feeding, medicals and fairly used clothes. Whatever is left in the end cannot guarantee the flashy lifestyle that prompted them to go into the trade.

It is no longer a secret that more than one thousand Nigerian girls are trafficked to different countries by prostitution rings in Europe every month. The unholy trade has assumed a height never seen before in the last decade, with Italy as choice destination.

However, recent investigation has shown that the crime is gradually declining in Western Europe following strict laws on illegal migration and the efforts of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

But while the fight against the international prostitution rings may be gaining momentum, with relative success, locally-based prostitution rings are devising a model fashioned after the Europe-based rings to lure young and innocent girls into the world’s oldest profession.

Born without skull: US doctors create fresh head for Nigerian child!

With  much expectation, the world is waiting to see  OkikiJesu Olawuyi grab a fitting place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Many across the world want to see this happen. And what that means is that a Nigerian child is well on her way to making history once she scales the mountain of surgeries standing in her path of life.
Born without skull: US doctors create fresh head for Nigerian child
OkikiJesu  Olawuyi was born without a skull but not without a will to live. Bones from her hands are being obtained to construct a skull bone to help her live. Amazingly, she is winning this battle for  her life  at John Hopkins University in far away United States of America. There, the best hands the world can assemble are with her every passing hour fighting a medical war to give life to a miracle child  who has announced to  the entire human community that she has something different to offer. First grade surgeons – irrespective of colour, race and tongue are tasking  their expertise to see that this wonder of the 21st century lives to tell her story and  reports say that they are doing a great job to save her.
OkikiJesu is getting moral and material support  from across the world to help her live. An avalanche of support is coming her way. Her parents are carrying the burden of pain and anguish with stoic patience. They are fighting to remedy a medical case they cannot tell how it all started.    The child needs a lot more financial assistance to pull through, her father, Mr. Caleb Olawuyi, says.  He disclosed that she needed an additional $500,000 to undergo the final operation that would enable her live  a normal life. Experts say that is possible and they can achieve that. While appealing for generous support from government, corporate organizations and private individuals to help the baby live, Mr. Olawuyi, has equally urged government to set up funds to assist babies afflicted with critical ailments. Speaking straight from the heart, he noted that one needed to be close to a child in pains to know how it feels.
Since news of the child’s medical condition was disclosed, the world has been aghast. She was born on May 11, 2010 with a rare birth deformity which means  over 50 per cent of her skull doesn’t exist. The world has not seen anything of this stuff. In recorded history, Sunday Sun gathered that this medical condition has never been reported anywhere. The child’s condition is one that appears to have turned medicine on its head, having thrown up tremendous professional challenge to the human race. Now, the very best the world has known are  fighting a crunchy battle to overcome this, leaving many – particularly those with  hearts of stone- wondering if there is nothing they can offer to help.
Now from the home sector, help is coming for  three-year-old Okiki and her parents. Since the condition of the baby became public knowledge, a non profit  organization had stepped in to assist. Global Initiative for Peace, Love and Care (GIPLC) has been doing all it can  to give life to the child whose medical condition is not traceable to  her parents. With the assistance of the organization’s Coordinator and Project Manager, Mr. Nuhu Kwajafa, the child  and her parents were on May 4, 2013, flown  to the United States. There, she is currently undergoing skull reconstruction surgery at the John Hopkins University Medical Centre.
Now, the child’s and her father’s cry for help comes ringing through the airways asking Nigerians to help her live. Here is a child  the world is interested in. The non-profit organization is doing its  best  at that level to help her survive. Sunday Sun gathered that while the world was  a short while  away from screaming uhuru at the wonderful breakthrough, an unforeseen complication arose after over 14 hours of  surgery. This followed inconsistencies in her medical history. Besides, her case marked a maiden attempt in paediatric neurosurgery. This, therefore, led to a further accumulation of medical bills totaling over US$500,000. This bill is  spiraling every passing day OkikiJesu  and her parents spend at the Johns Hopkins facility.
Specialists in the USA have identified the rare birth deformity which OkikiJesu is suffering, as Congenital Cranial Deficiency. Before now, she had been to several hospitals but not cured, but luck flashed on her pathway when GIPLC, which is based in Abuja took up her case. Sunday Sun learnt that since then, the organization has recorded significant success in efforts to get medical care for her. Within just a week, it raised about $234,000, an equivalent of N37 million through kind gestures from individuals and groups for her treatment at  John Hopkins Hospital.
Kwajafa , just back from the United States, told Sunday Sun that “prior to the complications which arose, what made a determination of the full cost of Okiki’s surgery difficult is that in modern times, it is an extremely rare (perhaps singular) medical condition with no precedence to draw estimates  from.
This latter fact also means that it is equally difficult to tell what other medical complications may arise. An example  are  fluids that were retained in her cranial cavity which have posed an unforeseen challenge and may have led to a fatal infection.
Kwajafa’s worry is that, “OkikiJesu  may not be released from hospital until all outstanding bills have been paid. We and her parents are desirous of  her condition being fully remedied before she leaves the hospital.” Against this backdrop, he said  “We would like to appeal to the global public to support our cause in ensuring that OkikiJesu  Olawuyi lives.”
Medical analysts believe  she  will be a living testimony if she recovers. According to GIPLC, her case remains the only one of its kind in the world.
When OkikiJesu’s father, Mr. Olawuyi spoke to Sunday Sun on telephone from  John Hopkins Hospital, he expressed optimism that the girl was doing well and had remained in stable condition. He said “We thank God that she is responding positively to every operation performed  on her. The doctors attending to her are also pleased with her present condition. They  said she is a miracle child, because she is so far the only child in the world with this kind of health condition.
“They told us that there is no case of her type in medical history at their disposal the world over. There are three renowned  doctors attending to OkikiJesu and the experience is so great.
“They keep assuring us that everything will be fine soon. We are also hoping positively and asking God to deliver our child.”
In a voice laden with emotion, he appealed to Nigerians to assist the child  to live through their generous donations, pointing out that with money available, the baby was sure to survive.
But our greatest challenge here is the cost of her treatment  in the hospital. It’s indeed a very tough experience for us as parents.
The medical bill keeps increasing daily and has since been piling up. The treatment has over-shot the initial bill that was given to us before we came, because her condition exceeded their estimation.
The major issue is the hospital bill and not really our up-keep, that is, myself, my wife and our 15-month old baby, (Okiki’s younger sister). She is currently at the intensive care unit (ICU). This costs between $6,000 and  $10,000 daily. Sometimes, two nurses are stationed to take care of her daily and it costs a lot of money.
The good thing is that they are not taking any chance. They are all over her all the time. They are monitoring her regularly especially as she is an international patient. The bill is growing higher,” he lamented.
Okiki’s father further stated that for “every parent of a child with this critical health challenge, one only manages to sleep and to wake up hoping that the next day would be different. We have gone through this trauma all this while. Though, we have faith in God but every passing day, we are afraid for her life. Here in the hospital, as critical as her condition is , we are living and sharing her pains more so that the bills pile up  every moment.
“ We appeal to Nigerians not to give up on Okiki. With their support, God will not disappoint us because she keeps improving daily. All the operations have been very critical. They took bones from her hand and leg to construct her skull. And she is doing fine.
We appreciate efforts by all Nigerians including  individuals, groups and corporate organizations. Everybody has been very supportive. We thank the Nigerian government, the National Assembly, and particularly the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal and other kind-hearted people and members of our family for their support.
“On behalf of our daughter Okiki, and other children and parents in this condition, we urge government to institute a Special Trust Fund to take care of such rare and critical cases in the country. This fund should be adequately funded to cater for such critical needs.
For us, Okiki’s parents, we are in this condition but hope that one day God will deliver us.
“In this situation, we repeat our appeal for quick intervention from the government and other Nigerians. Our wish here is that others should be spared this experience. We plead further with government to establish a fund to cater for such children in this condition.”

Couple Born on Same Day, Married 75 Years, Die One Day Apart
Helen and Les Brown

According to the Long Beach Press- Telegram, Helen and Les Brown died on July 16 and 17 respectively, both were 94.
Zach Henderson, owner of the Ma N'Pa Grocery in Long Beach, Calif., said he saw the couple almost daily and called their relationship "a wonderful blessing."

"About a year ago, [Helen] had her hand on his face and they were cheek to cheek," Henderson said. "She said, 'Isn't he the most handsome man you've ever seen?' hat's exactly how they were. They were full of love and passion."

According to the Press-Telegram, the couple also shared the same birthday of Dec. 31, 1918, and eloped in 1937 after they met in high school.
Henderson said that even though the couple were in their 90s they remained active in their community and insisted a local band set up in their driveway during a residential block party.
"They were fun-loving and beautiful people," Henderson said.

The couple were Jehovah's Witnesses and their oldest son, Les Brown Jr., told the Press-Telegram their faith strengthened their marriage.
"It was a real love match, wasn't it," said Les Brown Jr. "They were together every day for 75 years."

When they died, the Press-Telegram reported that Les Brown was suffering from Parkinson's disease and Helen Brown had stomach cancer.

However, Henderson said he never realized that Helen Brown was sick, even though he dropped off groceries to their home almost on daily basis.
"She was completely cognitive," Henderson said, describing how he found Helen Brown a few days before she died. "It seems like she was waiting for Les to be comfortable and they were going to move on to something else with each other."

A public service will be held for the couple on Saturday afternoon in Long Beach, Calif.

Egypt warns sit-ins as weekend death toll climbs!

Egypt's interior minister on Sunday pledged to deal decisively with any attempts to destabilize the country, a thinly veiled warning to supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi occupying two squares in Cairo in a month-long stand-off with the security forces.

The warning came as authorities said that the death toll in weekend clashes between Mohammed Morsi's Islamist backers and security forces near one of those sit-ins had reached 72, in the deadliest single outbreak of violence since the July 3 military coup.
"I assure the people of Egypt that the police are determined to maintain security and safety to their nation and are capable of doing so," Mohammed Ibrahim told a graduation ceremony at the national police academy. "We will very decisively deal with any attempt to undermine stability," said Ibrahim, who is in charge of the police.

Ibrahim's comments added pressure on Morsi's backers three weeks after the Islamist president was ousted in a military coup that followed days of street protests by millions calling on him to step down.

On Friday, millions again took to the streets in a show of support for Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, the military chief who ousted Morsi. Those protests were in response to Abdel-Fattah's call for a mandate for him and the police to tackle what he called violence and potential terrorism.

Ibrahim, who had been appointed by Morsi, took an uncompromising stance in a news conference on Saturday, accusing the pro-Morsi side of provoking bloodshed to win sympathy and suggesting that authorities could move against the two main pro-Morsi protest camps: one outside the Rabaah al-Adawiya mosque in eastern Cairo and another in Nahda Square near the main campus of Cairo university.
He depicted the two encampments as a danger to the public, pointing to a string of nine bodies police have said were found nearby in recent days. Some had been tortured to death, police have said, apparently by members of the sit-ins who believed they were spies.

Egyptians mourn supporters of Egypt's ousted President Mohammed Morsi who were killed in overnight clashes with security forces, in a field hospital, in Nasr City, Cairo, Saturday, July 27, 2013. Clashes erupted early Saturday in Cairo between security forces and supporters of Morsi, killing scores of protesters and overwhelming field hospitals with the wounded, the Health Ministry said, in an outburst of violence that put the possibility of political reconciliation in the deeply divided nation ever further out of reach. Neither side in the Egyptian conflict, however, has shown much taste for reconciliation. Islamists staunchly reject the new leadership and insist the only possible solution to the crisis is to reinstate Morsi. Meanwhile, the interim leadership is pushing ahead with a fast-track transition plan to return to a democratically elected government by early next year.
Interim Vice President Mohamed ElBaradei, a longtime pro-democracy campaigner who backed the military's ouster of Morsi, raised one of the few notes of criticism of Saturday's bloodshed.
"I highly condemn the excessive use of force and the fall of victims," he wrote in a tweet, though he did not directly place blame for the use of force. He added that he is "working very hard and in all directions to end this confrontation in a peaceful manner."

But the image of the Islamists as dangerous and not the peaceful protesters they contend they are has had a strong resonance. Over past weeks, there have been cases of armed Islamist Morsi backers attacking opponents — though the reverse also has occurred. Before Saturday, some 180 people had been killed in clashes nationwide.
