Meanwhile, his estranged wife Gloria Lamptey is claiming that it was Lamptey who suggested they use artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile. A claim Lamptey reportedly denied. A close friend of the former Anderlecht footballer said he’d on several occasions caught his wife cheating on him but stayed with her because of his love for her and the businesses they own together.
Another source alleged that Odartey intermittently physically assaulted Gloria and on one occasion he even pulled a knife on her and slashed her arms.
According to them, Odartey knew he did not father the kids because medical reports had shown he had low sperm count.
It also stated that Nii Odartey bought a car as Xmas gift for his eldest daughter in the university, adding that the children are lovely and brilliant.
“Odartey has always cared for the children. If he knew all this while they were not his why has he been caring for them as his own,” the source close to the family enquired and described Gloria as a nice person who had endured a lot with Odartey.
On the other hand, Promising Fashion Designer/Actor and one of two Ghana's representative at this year’s Big Brother Africa reality television show, Elikem Kumordzi, has denied ever having an affair with Odartey Lamptey’s wife, Gloria.

Elikem reacted to revelations made Thursday, November 28, 2013, on rumour segment “Akika kika” on Okay FM’s drive time program “Ekwanso dwodwo” hosted by Abeiku Santana, where it was alleged that Elikem had been having a secret affair with the footballer’s wife even before he went into the Big Brother house in May 2013.
They further alleged that Elikem may possibly be the father to at least one of the three children after Odartey Lamptey disclosed on radio that a DNA test he subjected himself to reveals he is apparently not the father of all his three kids.
He flatly rejected the claims, suggesting the equation doesn't add up, and even went ahead to throw a jab at those spreading the rumors calling them “fools”.
They further alleged that Elikem may possibly be the father to at least one of the three children after Odartey Lamptey disclosed on radio that a DNA test he subjected himself to reveals he is apparently not the father of all his three kids.
