Yellow Fever Put-Break- FG Collabos With States & Partners To Vaccinate Communities!

 In response to the recent reports of outbreak of the Yellow Fever in Delta State, South-South Nigeria, and several other states across Nigeria, the Federal Government in collaboration with State governments, FMoH, NCDC and Development partners, has introduced free vaccinations in affected areas.



According to reports, the plan is to conduct the mass yellow fever campaigns in the following states: Cross River, Benue, Ebonyi, Ondo, Oyo and Osun, from 20th November, 2020.

In Ika North and South areas of Delta State for example, Health Workers and some members of the Communities are currently undergoing training, to enable them start mass vaccinations of people aged between 4 - 44 years. 
 
 
The Yellow Fever disease, is caused by a virus which is transferred to Humans through bites from infected mosquitoes. 

The signs and symptoms are: 
1) Fever or Chills
2) Sever Head ache
3) Back Pain
Muscle Pin
4) General Body ache
5) Nausea
6)Vomiting
7)Fatigue & Weakness.
 

The fever is Detected through blood-tests in Health Facilities, and Prevented by getting Vaccinated.

Prevention of the 'Yellow' Fever is by protecting one's self from mosquito bites and from strictly following these measures:

1 - Use safe insecticides it insect repellents

2 - Use long-lasting insecticide treated Mosquito

3 - Get rid of stagnant water around the environment.

4 - Get Vaccinated. (The Yellow Fever Vaccination is expected to protect one from the disease for a life-time)
