LASU cultists kill upcoming musician

Lagos:
Damoche: shot dead
RISING hip hop act, Olaniyan Damilola, popular known as Damino Damoche, was shot dead on Thursday around 5.00 p.m at the Iba Gate of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, by people suspected to be cultists.
it was gathered that Damoche was shot in the head twice, after he finished writing a test at the Faculty of Management Science of the institution.
The hip hop artiste, who broke to limelight mid-2011, was, until his death, a 400-level Banking and Finance student at LASU.
He was said to be working on his next album due for launch in April when the incident occurred.

Ngozi Braide, the image maker in charge of the Lagos State police command, confirmed the killing.
She added that the police had deposited the corpse at the mortuary.
it was also gathered that the hip hop act was on his way out of the campus , when some alleged cult guys accosted him and shot him at a close range.
The death created panic in the school, as students rushed to the scene to catch a glimpse.

A student of LASU, informed to newsmen that “it is not unusual in LASU for someone to be killed before examinations. We know that they will surely kill since we are starting our exams next week.”

'Western Wedding University': Where Students Go to Marry

While many college students across the United States are looking at the calendar and getting ready for a booze-fueled spring break, some students are planning a different kind of vacation bash: their weddings
It's not uncommon for teens attending small religious schools to forgo the typical drinking-and-partying college experience and instead focus on finding their soul mates. At Walla Walla University in Washington state, the idea of "dating to marry" is so much the norm that students have dubbed the school "Western Wedding University."

A lot of people come here and they try to get married," Alyssa Seibold, a junior. "Because of the community that we are in, I feel like people can find someone they are compatible with because we all come from similar backgrounds."

It's a nickname that the school embraces, too, thanks to its devout Seventh Day Adventist roots.

"We hope that if God is leading you to come to WWU, that you can find a home here; a place to know others and God, as well as to be known," the school's chaplain, Pastor Paddy, writes on the campus ministries wed page. "The ways to get involved are endless, we just want to see you engaged (in ministry or to someone of the opposite gender, remember we aren't called Western Wedding University for nothing."
But some students are no longer satisfied with the idea of going to school to find your spouse, even if they grew up with the idea that early marriage is preferable. The pressure to get married before graduation can be intense, leaving some young adults feeling like they've somehow failed because they haven't found their life partner before their senior year. Others wonder if wanting to be single means they must give up having a contented, Christian life.

"Coming to Walla Walla only made things worse. I mean come on... Western Wedding University? It's almost expected that once you're here you must begin the search for a 'special friend'," wrote Andrie Iwasa on her bolg last year. "I actually began to feel a little depressed as I watched all the lovey couples flocking across campus… My life wasn't complete because I didn't have a boyfriend. I had let social pressure begin to mold my outlook on relationships."

"Between the 'freshman frenzy' and the race to the 'ring before spring,' I find myself wondering if we aren't putting too much pressure on ourselves to 'find a mate and graduate'," writes WWU student Jaclyn Archer in an essay for the school's newspapar, the collegian. Though Archer admits that she is "blessed enough to be in a fulfilling, long-term relationship" herself, she calls on her fellow students to "revitalize the casual dating scene."

"It's healthier than jumping from relationship to relationship, it fosters friendship and clear thinking, and frankly, it is a lot of fun," she writes.

Economic experts point out that young people are delaying marriage because of bad economy the average age of first marriage for men in the U.S. is 28.7, and 27.5 for women, each about a year later than in 2007—but at smaller, conservative schools, young men and women see an early engagement as a sign that they're on the right path in life.

"Believe it or not, we'd been dating for seven-and-a-half years when I finally wised up and proposed," wrote Paul Bowers on his blog, married in college. He and his wife tied the knot just before their senior year at the University of South Carolina. "As Christians, we both believe that a self-centered life is a wasted life … When I stopped constructing my sentences around the subject 'I' and started to ponder 'we,' virtues like patience, charity, and forgiveness took on a new light."

At Whitman College, located in the same town as WWU, the emphasis on getting your "Mrs." degree may not be as strong as it is at Western Wedding University but it's still an accepted and, in some cases, expected, part of the college experience there.

"We basically decided that if getting married wasn't going to be an option, we wouldn't be dating," Alecia Kaer, a junior at Whitman, told the Whitman Pioneer. She and her fiancé will be getting married in March, over spring break. "We decided to make love a choice, not just a feeling."

7 Hidden Heart Attack Symptoms in Women

You know the classic Hollywood image of a heart attack: A man clutches his chest and falls to the ground. But a heart attack typically looks far subtler in a woman, with a constellation of symptoms (fatigue, heartburn, indigestion, sudden dizziness, and troubled sleep) that develop over hours, days, or even weeks. It's tempting to write off these signs as "nothing, really," but the more of them you have, the more likely you're suffering a heart attack. If you suspect you're having a heart attack, call 911 immediately.

Plagued by Fatigue?

Fatigue is a common complaint, and one that may indicate you're missing out on sleep, fighting a virus, overextending yourself, or experiencing a side effect due to medication. That said, unusual orextreme fatigue can be an early heart attack symptom or a warning sign of heart disease. In one study, more than 70% of the women surveyed experienced marked fatigue in the days or weeks prior to their heart attacks.

Troubled Sleep

This symptom, although a little trickier to identify, has to do with any unusual or prolonged disturbance in your sleep patterns -- not that you stayed up until 1 a.m. A recent study revealed that almost half of the women who had recently suffered a heart attack also experienced sleep disturbances in the days or weeks leading up to their attacks

Shortness of Breath

Having trouble taking a deep breath but don't think you have asthma? Unexplained, severe shortness of breath during normal daily activities is one of the most common early heart attack symptoms in women, as is coughing.

Heartburn and Indigestion

When it comes to heartburn, a rich meal isn't always to blame. Nearly 40% of women who have had a heart attack say they experienced heartburn or indigestion shortly before the attack. Heart attack symptoms in women may also include unexplained nausea or vomiting. Women are twice as likely as men to experience gastrointestinal problems when having a heart attack.

Unexplained Anxiety

More than one-third of women experience extreme anxiety as an early heart attack symptom. Yep, a heart attack can mimic a panic attack. Unfortunately, this can delay lifesaving treatment. If you suddenly feel unusually anxious for no reason at all, call for help, pronto.

Widespread Pain

Although sudden chest pain is considered a classic heart attack symptom, only about 30% of women report experiencing it. Women also report pain or discomfort in other areas of the body before or during a heart attack. Pressure, tightness, aching, or burning in your upper back, neck, shoulders, and arms -- or even in your jaw or throat -- can indicate a heart attack. Women have also described their chest pain as sharpness, fullness, or tingling.

Dizziness and Sweating

Nearly 40% of women suffering a heart attack say they feel dizzy or light-headed. Another 40% also break out in a cold sweat. It's easy to write off both as symptoms of menopause, but sudden dizziness can also be a symptom of stroke, so check with your doctor to be safe.

Son admits cutting mother into pieces, spreading her parts around the South Bronx

Police have identified the victim as 45-year-old Tanya Byrd. A witness told police the victim's head, hands, torso, legs and shoulder were thrown among other garbage bags on Eagle Avenue near 158th Street in the Melrose section early Tuesday. Police sources said her son, 23-year-old Bashid McLean, confessed to the gruesome murder.

A schizophrenic South Bronx man confessed Tuesday to dismembering his mom and scattering her body parts in garbage bags across the South Bronx, police sources said.
Deranged suspect Bashid McLean, 23, implicated himself in the gruesome death after investigators recovered a saw inside the apartment where he lived with victim Tanya Byrd and his 7-year-old brother, Nasyr.

Suspected killer Bashid McLean, 23, had help dumping garbage bags filled with mom Tanya Byrd's remains, say authorities.
Cops also found a shopping cart used to lug 52-year-old Byrd’s severed body parts from their home to four locations within walking distance of the murder scene, police sources said.
Byrd was terrified by McLean, who was on probation after coming at two cops with a knife in 2010, and suspected that he was battering little Nasyr. The younger brother has Down syndrome, according to one neighbor.

“I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Bashid killed her,” said a 43-year-old woman who lives in the building on Westchester Ave. in Melrose. “She was afraid of that boy. . .He was a hellion.”
When bruises began appearing on the special-needs child, Byrd suspected her older son, the neighbor said.

“Bashid had a problem controlling his rage,” said the neighbor. “He had creepy eyes. Didn’t like to look you in the eye — but when he did, they went right through you.”
Although McLean called police to report his mom was missing, he quickly emerged as a suspect in the gruesome killing, police sources said. Cops were questioning him at the 40th Precinct stationhouse late Tuesday.

McLean’s sister, Porsche Lovett, who visited him at the stationhouse, said he showed no remorse. “He looked me in the eyes and told me he did nothing wrong when he killed her,” she said. “I don’t know who he is.”Byrd’s body parts were stuffed in garbage bags and scattered throughout her neighborhood, with a dog walker spying her right leg protruding from a pile of garbage around 5 a.m., police said.
Three heavy-duty plastic garbage bags stuffed with body parts were found nearby.

The victim’s head, hands, torso, legs and shoulder were pulled from the trash bags, the sources said.
The brutal killing left McLean’s family members reeling — despite Bashid’s history of aggression and mental health problems.
“He did destructive things,” said his father, James McLean. “He set fires; nobody could control him. ”
The dead woman’s sister said Bashid nursed a grudge against Byrd over his placement in foster care while his mom battled a drug problem. They reunited when he turned 18.
“I want people to know my sister was a good mother,” said Cassandra McLean. “She always took care of him.”

He was said to have traveled to India for treatment last year and actually seemed to have recovered only for the sickness to relapse a few months ago.
