Man Hands over Boko Haram Son to JTF!

A 60-year old Maiduguri based businessman, Friday, turned in his son, a member of the deadly Boko Haram sect, to the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Restore Order.

It was gathered from a source within the family that the son before departing from the family house few days ago had threatened to kill his father.

But to everyone’s surprise the son returned home some days later, pleading with his father to give him refuge from the soldiers, who have started a clampdown on the sect.

The source said the son "after confessing all his crimes, including how he participated in killing of people and looting of banks to his father, the old man decided that it was against his conscience to keep a killer-son in his home, so decided to turn him in."

The source further revealed that the father, who is Kanuri, after making up his mind against housing a killer-son approached the Sector office of the JTF and told them of the criminal involvement of his son.

It was gathered that the soldiers followed the father home to arrest the son, who had to be shot dead, while trying to escape arrest.

An eyewitness described the incident: "When the young man was shot by the soldiers and was writhing in pains, the old man only turned to say Masha Allah (to God be the glory)."

The old man was also said to have decided against taking up the ill-gotten wealth of his son stashed away near the family house.

A source said: "Before he was handed over to the soldiers, the young man had revealed to his father and family members that he possessed two cars and had millions of Naira buried somewhere near the family home.

"But the no-nonsense father said he has no interest in his ill-gotten asset and has no intentions of inheriting his assets, according to Islamic injunctions because they are 'haram," the source further revealed.

Court awards N4m against police for shooting subsidy protesters!

A Lagos High Court, Ikeja has awarded N4m as compensation to four protesters who were shot by the dismissed Divisional Police Officer of Pencinema, Segun Fabunmi, during the protest against subsidy removal in January 2012.

Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, in her judgment, awarded the total sum of N4m damages against the police and Fabunmi for “recklessly shooting and inflicting bodily injury” on the protesters.

The Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, last May began the criminal prosecution of the police officer who shot and killed a protester during last year’s petrol subsidy protest in Lagos.

Segun Fabunmi, the dismissed Chief Superintendent of Police, was arraigned before an Ikeja High Court, for allegedly murdering Adedamola Daramola (also known as Ademola Aderinto) during the January 2012 protests.

In addition to the death of Mr. Aderinto, Abubakar Alimi, Samuel Egbujor, and Chizoba Odoh, sustained gunshot injuries from the police officer’s AK 47 rifle.

While Mr. Odoh received bullet wounds on his right index finger, both Messrs Alimi and Egbujor were allegedly shot on their left legs.

Mr. Fabunmi, the former Divisional Police Officer of Pen Cinema, Agege, was charged with a seven count of murder, attempted murder, and inflicting injuries to some of the protesters.

Gay bill: Britain may suspend aid to Nigeria!

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, on Friday said his government might consider cutting off aid to Nigeria over same sex marriage bill passed by the House of Representatives on Thursday.  The Senate had passed its own version in November 2011.

Cameron spoke on a British Broadcasting Corporation programme monitored in Lagos.

He said he would take up the issue with President Goodluck Jonathan soon.

The prime minister said he would restate his government’s strong objection to the passage of the bill.

The prime minister was reacting to a question by a Nigerian resident in London, Bisi.

“When we meet with Nigerian politicians and leaders, we will be clear about those things we agreed on. We have to be clear where we disagree. We will make clear where we stand on those issues,” he said.

When asked whether Britain would consider stopping a projected 50 per cent increase in aid to Nigeria or cutting it outright, Cameron said, “Nothing is off the table. We need to have these conversations. We also have some very important objectives with Nigerians, for instance on how to deal with the appalling rates of poverty in Northern Nigeria, which are part of the problems confronting the country.”

Britain and some Western Nation had previously expressed opposition to the bill.

Cameron had in October 2011 threatened to cut off aid to countries which ban gay and lesbians.

Man Cuts Girlfriends Clitoris!

A man believed to be in his early thirties by name Atta Kweku has performed an abnormal act on his girlfriend, Akua Serwaa, by using a razor to mutilate her clitoris for refusing to yield to his bedroom demands. The genital mutilation according to our reporter Nana Yaw Dunfour, at the Boma Township located at Tano North in the Brong Ahafo Region. After committing the despicable act, Atta Kweku is said to have taken to his heels and gone into hiding leaving behind the three children he fathered with Akua Serwaa. His girlfriend, Akua Serwaa according to our reporter has been admitted at the emergency ward of the St. John of God Hospital and has returned to stable condition after bleeding profusely. Akua Serwaa has however refused to disclose to her family members why her boyfriend mutilated her clitoris. The police in the region, according to our reporter have waded into the matter to convince Akua Serwaa to confide in them and disclose the details of the matter to them. Our reporter added that they have also mounted a search to smoke out Atta Kweku for physically assaulting his girlfriend.

Former Governor of Lagos state Bola Tinubu Loses Mum, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji Died At 96!

Alhaja Dr. Abibatu Asabi Mogaji, mother of former Governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is dead. She died at her residence at 10, Sunday Adigun, Ikeja at about 6pm on Saturday. She was aged 96.

Kim Kardashian gives birth!

Kim Kardashian has given birth to a daughter at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood, Calif. 

According to the entertainment network, papa Kanye West was by her side for the delivery.

So far, Kardashian is being coy and hasn't Tweeted about the birth; her publicist Jill Fritzo is not responding to repeated requests for comment. She and West have not revealed the name, but according to E!, Kardashian told friends it will begin with a K.

Us Weekly cites an unidentified hospital source as saying the reality star delivered "five weeks early. Kim got sick last night and had the baby early."

The source added, "They're all doing great and amazing!"

TMZ reports that Kardashian had a natural birth after beginning contractions on Friday and going into full labor on Saturday.

It is the first child for the reality TV star and her boyfriend, West.

Kim Kardashian Films Without Makeup, Dresses Baby Bump in All Black!

Kim Kardashian is keeping it casual now that she's in the final weeks of her pregnancy. The 32-year-old reality star dressed her baby bump in all black and wore flip-flops while filming a scene for Keeping Up With the Kardashians at The Vitamin Barn in Malibu on Tuesday, June 11. Wearing virtually no makeup, the radiant mom-to-be was joined by step-brother Brandon Jenner and step-sister-in-law Leah Felder.

Earlier that day, Kardashian told her twitter followers that she "tried yoga" and found it "very relaxing." The expectant star added, "I was into it! Think I will try it again!"

Kardashian has remained active throughout her pregnancy, according to her L.A.- and New York-based trainer Tracy Anderson. "Kim is working hard but listening to her body," the fitness expert told Us Weekly in its May 20 issue. "We focus mostly on her arms and legs, training one hour four times a week, depending on how she feels."

A source added that Kanye West's baby mama sticks to a light resistance program to avoid putting on more bulk: "She's not doing as much cardio and she's constantly changing the workout so that the variety keeps her toned all over."

Though her new figure has been ridiculed online and in the press, Kardashian's 35-year-old rapper beau has helped her tune out the negativity. "Kanye showers her with love and reassurance, constantly telling her how beautiful she is," a family insider told Us. "He's the only one in the world who can make Kim feel that special."
