Boko Haram’ Islamists Kill 44 Praying Muslims at Mosque!

At least 44 worshippers in northeast Nigeria have been killed after gunmen opened fire on a mosque in Konduga town, some 22 miles outside Maiduguri, Borno state, on Sunday, 11th of August, 2013, security agents said.

Also, embattled leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau made a video appearance and claimed series of recent deadly attacks on security forces in the North-East. Shekau also insisted that he was in “good health” despite an on-going military offensive aimed at crushing the Islamist insurgent group he heads.

 

He also challenged US President, Barack Obama; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French leader, Francois Hollande, saying they were not his match.
“You have not killed Shekau,” he said in the video distributed through a local intermediary in a manner similar to previous Boko Haram messages.

On the massacred 44, the DSS agent spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to reporters. But agency reports quoted one Usman Musa of the civilian group as saying that four of its vigilantes were also killed when they responded to calls for help.

Another report said 12 people were killed in Ngom of Mafa Local Government Area of the state between Saturday and early Sunday morning. The armed men, suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect reportedly invaded the two council areas during the Muslim Asba prayers.


Residents who fled to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, yesterday for safety, disclosed that the gunmen killed an unspecified number of people. A source from the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) said they received 26 victims of the attacks who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

 

In the Shekau video, seated on a short stool with a Kalashnikov rested on his right shoulder, the Islamic sect’s boss said Boko Haram was “responsible” for several deadly raids over the past months.

These include attacks on the police and military in the towns of Malam Fatori and Bama, which sparked clashes that killed at least 35 people, according to the military.
The video contained what Shekau claimed was footage of Boko Haram gunmen opening fire on the military in Bama, using heavy weapons mounted on flat-bed trucks.
Shekau also referred to fighting in the towns of Baga and Gamboru Ngala near the border with Cameroon.


The Boko Haram leader has been declared a global terrorist by the United States, which in March put a $7 million (5.3 million euros) bounty on his head.
“I’m challenging Obama,” Shekau said in the video. He voiced similar challenges to French President Francois Hollande and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”They are no match for me,” he proclaimed.


Suspected Islamist militants armed with automatic weapons fired on Muslims attending dawn prayers in the town of Konduga, Borno state, local officials said.


Some 26 people were injured and taken to a local hospital.




Four victims were said to be members of a civilian vigilante group who had rushed to the mosque to defend worshippers against the attack.

Usman Musa of the Civilian Joint Task Force said fellow vigilantes encountered "fierce resistance from heavily armed terrorists".

Justin Bieber Strips Naked To Serenade Grandma!

A picture has surfaced from last year's Bieber Thanksgiving dinner in which the singer is serenading his granny and well, this time he went full commando. According to a photo obtained by TMZ, Bieber played a joke on his grandma at her Toronto home in October 2012 by strutting out with just an acoustic guitar covering Justin and the Biebers.

 

Bieber had reportedly been staying at his grandma's house during the holiday and slept in on Canadian Thanksgiving morning. When he woke up after the rest of the family was already hanging out, he thought he'd play prank on them and do a naked serenade. The site reported that Bieber walked up to his shocked granny and started freestyling some lyrics about how much he loves her.



She apparently got the joke, but ordered him to hurry up and get his clothes back on.

2-yr-old daughter of barber felled by Police bullet yearns for father!

Never in his wildest imagination had Bright , a barber in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, envisaged he was going to be added to the endless list of hapless Nigerians sent to unprepared graves by trigger- happy policemen.

The barber whose saloon also served as his home, is a single father whose dream had been centered on training her two- and- half years old daughter, to the best school within his reach. But he never lived to fulfill his dream.

Bright, as gathered, had opened his saloon cum home penultimate Tuesday. As usual, he reportedly bathed his baby identified as Ebun, prepared her food and kept her under his watch when customers came in to have their hair cut.
But, the unexpected happened at about 10.30pm.

According to eye witnesses, a mobile policeman attached to a company, poles away from Janet Fagbemi street, location of Bright’s shop, stormed the shop and ordered Bright to come out.

Eye witnesses told Crime Guard that Bright, who was then attending to a customer, left him and came out, oblivious of the purpose of the policeman’s mission. “As he stepped out of the shop, the Mopol shot him at close range . He continued shooting sporadically in the process of which four other persons including a pregnant woman were hit by stray bullets. From all indications, it was obvious he was drunk.

“It all started after the policeman who was on a short and T-shirt abandoned his duty post and accosted some men in a vehicle on the adjourning street. He told the men in the car to come down for a search. But they hesitated, requesting he identified himself before they would obey.
“Perhaps, their response infuriated him as he slapped one of them twice. While they were still trying to fathom what their offence was, he slapped the second man.
“Amidst frayed nerves, the men demanded to ascertain the identity of the man who assaulted them. At that point, the Mopol rushed to his duty post and came back with his gun, saying he would show them that he was just posted from Jos, Plateau, where people are killed anyhow. At that point everyone took to his heels before he went to Bright’s shop.”

“A pregnant woman known as Ebere was in her house when she heard the gun shots. Suspecting robbers were operating, she rushed out to lock her gate , only for a stray bullet to hit her on the hand.

Another victim, Nonso, was hit in the eye while the third, Tayo,was hit in the thigh”.


Crime Guard gathered that while everyone fled, Bright was left in the pool of his blood. On realising the magnitude of his deed, the Mobile policeman, later identified as Corporal Mohammed Abubakar, attached to Mopol 17, Ondo State, took to his heels.

Even in the face of death Bright was said to have kept calling his daughter Ebun, pleading to sympathizers to rush inside his shop to ensure she was safe. When it was obvious he could not make it, he reportedly touched one of the sympathiser and said, “ please help me take care of my daughter until any of my relatives comes for her". He was said to have repeated the word twice. When he was making attempt to repeat it the third time to a neighbour he recognized in the midst of the crowd, he gave up the ghost.

“He held my hand and appealed passionately saying, ‘please don’t abandon Ebun, no matter…’ before he breathed his last,”the neighbour disclosed.

As at Thursday, Crime Guard was informed that no one had come to be identified as the deceased relative.
A resident of the area revealed that Ebun was only six months old when her mother abandoned her. Nobody knows her mother’s name nor where she is from. We only know the deceased as Bright. We do not know his surname. He told us he was from Benue State. He did everything within his might to make Ebun happy since the mother left. He called her his little princess and carried her wherever he went.

When Crime Guard visited Ebun’s new home around the vicinity , she was seen carrying on with life unaware of her father’s whereabouts.But once in a while, her new parents said, “she would start calling out to her daddy . At that point, nobody can console her because she would be crying and at the same time, going about the whole place like one looking for what was lost. She has emaciated over night,even though we try to persuade her to eat what we all eat.”

As you read this piece, the remains of Bright, the single father who was determined to move on with life irrespective of its unpalatable experiences, lies at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital ,LUTH, Idi-Arara, morgue.
Police on the trail of killer cop.

As at Thursday, nothing had been heard about the killer- cop who took off from the scene. Police authorities, as gathared, were worried about the weapon in his possession. In a bid to ensure his arrest, the Lagos State Police Command had launched a manhunt for him.

The State Police boss, Umar Manko, was quoted as saying that if the fleeing cop did not show up within 21 days, he would be declared a ‘Deserter’ and would no longer be seen as a Policeman but a ‘rebel’.
Police authorities have also called on members of the public to help avail them with information that could lead to the apprehension of the fleeing killer cop ,with a view to ensuring that justice was done.

Tonto Dikeh talks about her suicide attempt!

It was gathered from  Lindaikeji blogspot that Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh tried to commit suicide a few weeks back.

According to lindikeji, "I heard everything that happened on that fateful day but decided not to write about it because it's such a sensitive issue. She really wanted to end her own life but thank God for the intervention of good friends.

"If I write details of what happened that day, none of you will believe it. I was in shock myself. All I will say now is please take it easy on her with your comments and attacks on social media.

"The only reason I'm writing about it now is because she kinda shared what happened to her on her instagram page but most people didn't get what she was trying to say. Also, like Tonto said, suicide is never the solution to any problem. This is for those who are contemplating it".

Reactions trail Beverly Osu's abuse claims!

 

Beverly Osu, one of the BBA House mates, claimed a few days back that she was battered to the extreme by an ex-rapper boyfriend and even pulled up her shirt to show a scar she got from one of his numerous beatings...to prove she wasn't lying about the abuse. 
                                           

She said one time while he was beating her she ran into the bathroom to escape him, but instead of leaving her alone, he broke down the bathroom door and continued beating her.


 

Beverly didn't mention names...she said "rapper boyfriend", but it's in the know that she once dated 2shotz who is a rapper. 



 

She may have been referring to 2shotz or another rapper she dated, however some people believed Beverly was referring to 2shotz and called him out.

Hoodlums who attacked corper in Bayelsa state have been arrested!

Two men, Weri Malua and Ebi West Jato, have been arrested in connection with the attack on corps member, Folakemi Akinbode on Monday August 5th. 

 

The Bayelsa Special Security Task Force known as 'Operation Doo Akpor' claimed responsibility for the arrest.
The two men attacked the NYSC nurse as she was returning to the corpers' lodge after her shift at the Niger Delta Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, Bayelsa state. The men had earlier in the day visited the teaching hospital to donate blood and were paid by Ms Akinbode. They waited for her to leave work and attacked her with a machete after stealing from her.
