Jeta & Mbong Amata have separated after almost 10 years together!

The prolific movie director and his beautiful actress wife of five years Mbong Amata, 28, have separated. They have actually been separated for about a year now but y'all are just hearing about it. And from what I gathered Jeta and Mbong didn't fight, they just decided to let each other go.

Jeta met Mbong when she was only 16 years old in Calabar in 2001 during a movie audition. He waited for her to mature and they started dating when she turned 18 two years later. In 2008, they welcomed a daughter, that same year, Jeta married Mbong. They later moved from their base in Abuja to Los Angeles so Jeta could work on his movie projects.

Here's what I heard happened between them. Mbong met Jeta when she was so young, married him and became a mother in her early twenties. She is a former beauty queen (Miss Akwa Ibom 2003) and her dream was to be an actress. Jeta didn't mind his wife being an actress but he didn't want her featuring in Nollywood movies, so he restricted her. Mbong, some of you may have noticed, only featured in Jeta's movies. And because she met Jeta so young, Mbong didn't get a chance to date other men, never partied and until they separated, never earned a living on her own. She relied on Jeta for everything.

When they moved to the US, it became a little worse for Mbong. She became lonely and instead of being the star actress she's always dreamed of, she became a housewife, caring for Jeta and their five year old daughter. Mbong became resentful and left Jeta in 2011 and returned to Nigeria. Jeta went after her and they reconciled after Jeta promised to give her a bit more space to pursue her dreams.

Jeta tried to live up to his promise, but as an African man, just couldn't compromise much and so last year Mbong wanted out of the marriage and Jeta let her go. Mbong and Jeta have been living separately in Los Angeles for about a year now. When I asked if there was any hope for reconciliation, my source told me 'it's only a matter of time before they file for divorce. They have moved on and the love is no longer there. Mbong is very happy now that she can do whatever she wants without a husband to stop her or tell her what she can or can't do"

I've known Jeta Amata for a long time, since the 90's in fact and so before writing this I reached out to him to get his own side of the story, and because we are friends, Jeta opened up to me.

He confirmed that they have indeed separated & partly blamed himself for the break up. He told me;

"Mbong is an amazing mother, an incredible wife...all the time we were together she would never let any other person cook my food...she was faithful and good to me and gave me the best gift in the world, our beautiful daughter. If I didn't cage her so much maybe we would still be together. I stole her youth and didn't let her live her dream so it was better to let her go and find new adventures. She's happy and so am I. Despite the fact that we are no longer together, we are still good friends. She even lives close to me here in LA. Things are great between us and I'm happy to see her happy."
Since the separation Mbong has featured in two Nollywood movies, one of them is Forgetting June produced by Emem Isong, which she came back to Nigeria to shoot.

As for Jeta, I heard he now has a new girlfriend. Jeta is dating Australian actress Viva Bianca, best known for her role as Ilithyia in Spartacus.

Viva is starring in Jeta's new movie project - Road to Redemption, which also features Ghanaian actress,Yvonne Nelson and pop star, Akon. Jeta and Viva have been dating for many months now and were even spotted in Las Vegas recently. When I asked Jeta about his relationship with Viva, he didn't want to talk about it.

Man's hidden camera caught fight with fiancée moments before her death!

Australian Simon Gittany, 40, is accused of pushing his Canadian partner Lisa

Harnum off the balcony to her death on July 30, 2011.

Lisa Harnum’s final moments were captured on camera. She is seen here with her mouth being covered by fiance Simon Gittany, who is accused of pushing her from a 15th-story window.

Now that the trial is underway, a

video of the struggle before she died

turnedout to be among the most

incriminating evidence against

Gittany, the interesting thing is

that he supplied it himself.

According to reports, Gittany was

apparently so "possessive,

domineering and

abusive" that he set up a stealthy pinhole camera on the door to their

apartment to spy on Harnum. This was just one of several hidden

cameras reportedly placed throughout their apartment.

He made her quit her job as a hairdresser, alienated her from her friends, told

her what to wear and even forbid her from going to the gym because he

feared other men would check her out, prosecutor Mark Tedeschi.

Gittany thought "it was her function in life to submit to his will as the male in

the relationship," Tedeschi said in an opening statement at the trial.

Moreso, Gittany allegedly read her emails and text messages without her

knowing, and forced her look at the ground or his eyes while walking down the

street for fear that she might look at another man.

"The deceased's confidence became more and more diminished," said

Tedeschi.

An employee for the Australian Broadcasting Corp. said he saw someone

throwing what looked like luggage from the balcony. But the court heard it

was actually Harnum dressed in black, according to the national news agency.

Another witness reportedly saw Gittany pump his first after the suspected

murder.

One of his neighbors still remembers the "single bone-chilling

scream" he heard before Harnum died.

Gittany's defense characterized Harnum as "conflicted, complicated and

confused," adding their relationship followed a pattern: "an argument, an

overreaction and then a reconciliation."

It was reported that Gittany was supported in court by his family and

current girlfriend. He is currently out on bail.

Did they say "supported by current girl friend"? mmmmm, there is a saying in

my place that "the cane a man used in driving  out his ex-wife is still at

home waiting for the new wife"

The "current" girlfriend better watch it then.....

Las Vegas woman fatally stabs 9-months-pregnant sister-in-law to death!

A Las Vegas woman brutally killed her pregnant sister-in-law, stabbing the

young mom repeatedly while moaning so loudly neighbors thought they were

hearing the sounds of kinky sex, police records allege.

Elinor Indico, 30, is accused of murder in the stabbing death of her pregnant sister-in-law in this Las Vegas apartment complex.

Elinor Indico, 30, faces charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the

bloody slaying of her brother’s wife, Ashley Indico.

A neighbor told police Ashley’s 5-year-old son came to her door with blood on

his hands.

My mom is bleeding,” the boy told neighbor Stephanie Vasquez,

Vasquez rushed next door but couldn’t get in. Elinor blocked the door and told

her to “get the (expletive) out of here,” according to a police report reviewed

by Nevada reporters.

Ashley lay dead inside the apartment. An autopsy report showed Ashley was

stabbed at least three times in the neck, once in the bicep and once in the

ankle.

Her unborn child — due in about a week — was also killed. Her 3-year-old

daughter was sitting in the bathroom.

Elinor was treated at University Medical Center for two shallow stab wounds

on her stomach.

Aristeo Indico had let Elinor, his sister, move in with his young family but

reportedly planned to kick her out when she broke his two rules: Get a job

and quit using drugs, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Neighbors said the tension was building between Elinor and Ashley built as

the move-out deadline loomed.

Elinor reportedly told detectives she was only defending herself, claiming her

sister-in-law went “stab crazy.”

The husband told police he and his sister were trained in martial arts and his

sister owned a Chinese fighting knife, made with blades on both ends.

Investigators found just such a knife next to Ashley’s body.

School Principal charged for murder over Indian school meal deaths!

The school principal and her husband have been charged with murder after 23 children died from eating pesticide-contaminated lunches in July at the school in eastern India, police said Tuesday.

The trial of Meena Kumari and her husband was expected to begin soon, said police officer Varun Kumar Sinha. They were arrested and could face the death penalty if convicted.
Investigating police officer Raj Kaushal said the principal's husband, opposition lawmaker Arjun Rai, stored pesticide at the school that was for use at his agricultural farm. The charge sheet filed in a court in Bihar state on Sunday said the chef cooked with it by mistake.
Both denied the charges and told police there was no deliberate act on their part.
The school's cooks have told authorities that the principal controlled the food for the government-provided free daily lunch. One of the cooks told police investigators that the cooking oil appeared different than usual, but that the principal told her to use it anyway.
The couple charged with murder after 23 children died from eating contaminated lunches in their school could face the death penalty if found guilty.
The children who died were between the ages of 5 and 12.
India's midday meal plan is one of the world's biggest school nutrition programs. State governments have the freedom to decide on menus and timings of the meals, depending on local conditions and availability of food rations. It was first introduced in the 1960s in southern India, where it was seen as an incentive for poor parents to send their children to school.
Although there have been complaints about the quality of the food served and the lack of hygiene, the incident in Bihar appeared to be unprecedented for the massive food program.

HERE'S 25 THINGS YOU (PROBABLY) DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE GODFATHER!

1: In the film’s opening scene, Vito is famously seen holding a cat. Amazingly this was a stray - there was no cat in the original script. Francis Ford Coppola found it while walking through the lot at Paramount Studios and wrote it into the movie. Its ludicrously loud purring muffled some of Brando’s lines, which meant they had to be looped over.

2: Spare a thought for actor John Marley who, during rehearsals, would "wake up" to find a fake horses head in bed with him. When the cameras rolled, without him knowing, a real horses head from a dog-food factory was used. His screams were real. Animal rights groups unsuccessfully protested the inclusion of the scene.

3: Things on screen may have been intense but off screen the actors were embroiled in, shall we say, high jinx. Marlon Brando, James Caan, and Robert Duvall spent the filming process trying to out-moon one-another. Bare buttocks were exposed during the childish game of oneupmanship until Brando showed his backside in the middle of a huge wedding-reception scene. The others conceded defeat and he was presented with a belt buckle with the words “Mighty Moon King” emblazoned.

4: George Lucas put together the “Mattress Sequence” (this montagee of crime scene snaps and headlines) as a thank you to Francis Ford Coppola for helping him fund American Graffiti. Lucas used photos from real crime scenes. The one pictured is Frank “The Enforcer” Nitti, Al Capone’s right-hand man who had not been murdered, but actually shot himself. During the scene Francis Ford Coppola's father Carmine Coppola is the piano player.

5: Al Pacino made just $35,000 for starring in the film (the same as James Caan and Diane Keaton and $1,000 less than Robert Duvall). However, having made runaway hits Scarecrow andSerpico after The Godfather, Pacino managed to command a $600,000 salary for The Godfather: Part II, as well as a 10 percent cut of the movie’s adjusted-gross income.

6: There are a host of 'almost cast' stories but perhaps the biggest is that Orson Welles lobbied to get the part of Don Vito Corleone, offering to lose a good deal of weight in order to get the role. Francis Ford Coppola, a huge Welles fan, had to turn him down because his mind was set on Brando.

7: Associate Producer Gary Fredrickson once said that Lenny Montana (Luca Brasi - pictured) told him he had worked as a Mafia bodyguard and arsonist.

8: James Caan and Al Pacino were only ten years younger than the American Jazz singer Morgana King, who played their mother. John Cazale (Fredo) was only five years younger than her.
9: Apparently, Brando agreed to play Vito Corleone on the condition that Burt Reynolds - who was being considered for Sonny - would, no longer be considered for Sonny. Brando saw poor old Burt as more of a TV star.

10: Coppola’s hiring of Brando was met with fierce opposition by playboy Paramount executive Robert Evans: “He’s crazy. F*ck him and the horse he rode in on,” was what Evans apparently said at the time.

11: This scene where Sonny beats up Carlo, took four days to shoot and featured 700 extras, the vast majority never getting a glimpse of screen time. The use of the garbage can lid was improvised while the yellow truck in the background and a wooden box on the sidewalk (pictured) are strategically placed to hide objects or buildings that didn't exist when the movie was set. The cars' wooden bumpers are an example of incredible attention to detail, because auto manufacturers of the time were using alternate materials to conserve metal for the war effort.

12: Marlon Brando wanted to make Don Corleone look "like a bulldog," so he stuffed his cheeks with cotton wool for the audition. For actual filming, he wore a mouthpiece made by a dentist; this appliance is on display in the American Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York. Brando spent three hours in make-up every day being fitted with the steel-bar dentures that sat below and in front of his lower teeth, with blobs of resin (known as ‘plumpers’) at either end to give him that imperious jawline.
13: James Caan also wore dental prosthetics for his role as Sonny Corleone. His ‘fangs’ were built up using quick-setting acrylic to make him look more animalistic.
14: “Mario Puzo had invented the term ‘The Godfather’ for the novel. It didn’t exist,” said author of The Godfather Effect Tom Santopietro. That's not all that was invented by Puzo. According to Francis Ford Coppola, the term "Don Corleone" is wrong. In Italian, addressing someone as "Don" is the same as addressing them as "Uncle" in English. Correct usage would be "Don Michael" or "Don Vito". Coppola says that Mario Puzo, who couldn't speak Italian, made up the idea of using "Don" with a person's last name and it stuck, totally transcending The Godfather.

15: The shooting of Moe Greene square through the eyeball was inspired by the real life death of gangster Bugsy Siegel. Special effects masters rigged actor Alex Rocco's glasses with two tubes hidden in the frames. One had fake blood in it, and the other had a BB and compressed air. When he was "shot", the compressed air fired the BB through the glasses, shattering them from the inside. The other tube then released the fake blood. Genius.

16: The most complicated scene for special effects was the death of Sonny Corleone at the Jones Beach Causeway toll plaza. James Caan's suit was rigged with 127 pouches of fake blood that exploded.

17: McCluskey's shooting was done by building a fake forehead on top of actor Sterling Hayden. A gap was cut in the middle, filled with fake blood, and was bunged up with prosthetic flesh. The plug was yanked out with fishing line, making a hole suddenly appear.
18: It's well known that Robert De Niro auditioned for a number of roles in The Godfather, alongside fellow "failures" Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson and Dustin Hoffman. Far fewer people know, he also auditioned for the role of Sonny.
19: Opposition to the movie was spearheaded by the Italian-American Civil Rights League who began with peaceful protest — including a rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden that raised $500,000 to halt production. Things soon became a campaign of intimidation. Little surprise being as the League was headed by a real-life mobster and former contract killer Joseph Colombo (pictured).

20: Gianni Russo, the Mob-connected fixer who played Don Corleone’s abusive son-in-law Carlo Rizzi has some insight into what levels Joe Colombo, the head of the Italian-American Civil Rights League, would go to have the film canned. He said: “[The Colombo family] had idiots around them who would do anything. Francis [Ford Coppola] went to Little Italy to do some tests before filming in a movie mobile, like an Airstream. They went in for lunch and when they came back the truck was gone. A million dollars’ worth of equipment.”

21: Thefts and veiled threats were common forms of intimidation used by groups who didn't want the movie made, but the most vicious incident came when Paramount executive Robert Evans, his Hollywood actress wife Ali McGraw and their infant son Joshua received a mystery call at their New York hotel. “We don’t want to break your pretty face, hurt your newborn,” rasped the voice. “Get the f*ck outta town. Don’t shoot no movie about the family here. Got it?”

22: Frank Sinatra had been against the project since its inception and allegedly threatened to break Mario Puzo’s legs in 1970 when the pair were introduced — because of the similarity he bore to Johnny Fontane. "Sinatra was incessantly career-obsessed,” said film historian and author of The Godfather Effect, Tom Santopietro. “He knew Vito was a great role and so he saw Ford Coppola, well before filming had started, and said, ‘Francis, I will play Don Vito for you. I’ll never do it for those guys at Paramount so let’s you and I buy back the rights and make the movie.’” Coppola, for whatever reason, rebuffed the offer and this, according to Santopietro, deepened Sinatra’s hatred of the movie.

23: Legend has it Frank Sinatra successfully got Italian-American singer Vic Damone (pictured) to quit his role as Johnny Fontane and Giani Russo (Carlo Rizzi) claims he tried the same trick with him. “Sinatra’s a punk,” said Russo. “He called me up and said, ‘I don’t want you to support this thing.’ So I hung up the phone.
24: Producer Al Ruddy invited Italian-American Civil Rights League head honcho and mobster Joe Colombo to his East Coast office to broker a deal for peace, during the League's bullying attempts to have the movie closed. Colombo and his crew demanded that Ruddy delete all mentions of ‘mafia’ in the script, but they didn’t bother to read it. So Paramount agreed and [the League] thought it had won a great victory, despite the fact there was only one use of ‘mafia’ in the script. It was indeed removed.
25: Members of the notorious Gambino crime family would visit the set every day and, according to mobster and actor Giani Russo (Carlo Rizzi), the wedding scene featured “100 years of good behaviour total”.

Another school shooting rocks U.S school!

Following the shooting at a Nevada middle school this morning, Local media reported that two people had died, including the shooter.

Two people are dead and two children critically wounded after gunfire erupted Monday at a Nevada middle school, Sparks police said.
The Reno Gazette-Journal, citing Sparks City Manager Shawn Carey, said the shooter was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"We believe the suspect has been neutralized," the sparks Police Department said on its website, without further details.

Angela Rambo, spokeswoman for Renown Regional Hospital, said the hospital had received two male patients, both minors, and both were in critical condition.

Reno deputy chief Tom Robinson said there were 150 to 200 personnel that secured the school and the surrounding area. Robinson, addressing parents during a press conference, said "I can tell them to rest assured. The schools are safe. The rest of the city is safe."

Governor Brian Sandoval said he was receiving regular updates, and that the Nevada Highway Patrol was assisting at the scene.

"I was deeply saddened to learn of the horrific shooting at Sparks Middle School this morning," Sandoval said. "Kathleen and I extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims and those affected by these tragic events."

Police spokesman Rocky Triplett said students had been evacuated from Sparks Middle School to nearby Agnes Risley Elementary School. The students from both schools were then being moved to Sparks High School.

The newspaper initally reported that a 12-year-old boy was shot as classes were starting, and the school was placed on lockdown.

The streets around the three schools were ringed with emergency vehicles following the shooting. Parents are being allowed to pick up children, but otherwise streets in the area were closed.
