Man stabs prostitute for refusing to give him used condoms!

Drama ensued recently in Alhaji Oluseyi Way in Okota, a densely populated area of Lagos when an unidentified man stabbed a commercial sex worker with a bottle for refusing to give him used condoms after sex.

It was gathered that the man, after having an all-night marathon sex with the lady demanded for the used condoms the following day but the lady turned him down, saying that she had disposed them.
However, the man maintained that the lady must produce the condoms so he could disposed them himself, apparently afraid of being used for ritual.
Consequent to the lady’s refusal to produce the used condoms, fight ensued and the visibly angry man pounced on her, beating her blue black.
Other members of the sex ring joined the fight and overpowered him. The man reportedly picked up a bottle and stabbed one of them.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Police Command at Ago-Okota Division.
When DailyPost correspondent arrived at the scene, the victim, a diminutive lady was seen ranting at the top of her voice.
She said, “Na our own business we dey do here, we no dey carry person sperm do anything. Anybody wey say e no go better for us, na God go punish am.”
You dey fear say dem go use your sperm dom something and you dey do. God go punish you and your family. Shameless man,” she asserted.
Efforts to speak with her proved abortive as she was quickly rushed to one of the nearby clinics for medical attention.

Police to review rape case for which wrongly convicted man was jailed!

West Mercia police are to review the original case for which Victor Nealon was wrongly convicted and spent 17 years in prison, the force has confirmed, with DNA evidence pointing to another perpetrator.
Victor Nealon
Nealon, the former postman who was freed from Wakefield prison on friday within hours of his conviction being quashed at the court of appeal, told the Guardian he wanted to pursue justice for the victim too: "I want to show my support towards the victim. I want to make clear that the police should reopen this case. I think they owe her an explanation and justice as well."
Nealon, 53, was given a discretionary life sentence in January 1997 for the attempted rape of a 22-year-old woman leaving a nightclub. But when DNA evidence on the victim's clothing was finally tested on the urging of appeal lawyers, the samples belonged to another, unknown man.
Detective Superintendent Adrian McGee of West Mercia police said: "We have been in touch with the victim to ensure that she is kept up to date and in the light of developments at the court of appeal we will be reviewing the case.
"We are currently waiting for papers from the Crown Prosecution Service and Criminal Cases Review Commission so that we can make a full assessment of all the information and evidence available."
The conviction was overturned by three judges in a short hearing on Friday. Nealon, who watched his appeal hearing via a video link from Wakefield prison, was discharged from prison within a few hours of the verdict, leaving Wakefield for the first time since 1997.
Originally from Dublin, Nealon was living and working in Redditch, near Worcester, when he was jailed, and made his way back towards the West Midlands. Now homeless, he left prison with a discharge grant of just £46.
He said on Sunday: "I've been destitute and emotionally topsy-turvy. Coming out of prison after 17 years isn't an easy experience."
In a broadcast interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester on Monday morning, Nealon said he was not bitter, despite the injustice he had suffered. "I've seen what bitterness can do; it's like cancer eating a person.
"I have become over the years a little more detached and academic in my attitude to this."
Wakefield is a category A prison for serious offenders, where Nealon was imprisoned along with the likes of Harold Shipman and the Soham murderer, Ian Huntley.
He said he took recourse in studying the law and fighting for justice – although refusing to admit guilt meant he had fewer privileges than other offenders, and ultimately was refused parole.
"It was devastating at first. Mentally I was destroyed. I had to detach myself from the regime and fight my own battle. I'm alive today and I've still got my sanity."
But, he said: "The Victor who was Victor before I was convicted no longer exists. I dedicated my life to overturning this conviction."
The Criminal Cases Review Commission referred the case – huighlighted since 2010 by the Guardian as a potential miscarriage of justice – to the court of appeal earlier this year.
Nealon's solicitor Mark Newby, who spent five years attempting to secure his release, will help him consider a potential fight for compensation and some kind of interim support.
John Hemming MP is planning to table an early day motion on issues raised by Nealon's case, especially including the denial of parole for prisoners who refuse to admit guilt.
He said: "At the moment, however, my biggest concern is that Victor ended up on the streets on Friday night. The government have still not resolved the issue of how to handle cases of people who are released through being found not guilty, particularly after long periods of incarceration."
Nealon has been assisted by supporters to stay temporarily in a B&B room in Worcester.

Ex-Footballer Discovers All 3 Kids From 20 Years Of Marriage Are Not His!

Odartey Lamptey

“…I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know that they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I’m pleading, because it is a legal issue I don’t want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years of marriage. We had five children but two passed away so we were left with only 3 and they are not mine” former Aston Villa player Odartey Lamptey allegedly told reporters.

Meanwhile, his estranged wife Gloria Lamptey is claiming that it was Lamptey who suggested they use artificial insemination after realizing he was infertile. A claim Lamptey reportedly denied. A close friend of the former Anderlecht footballer said he’d on several occasions caught his wife cheating on him but stayed with her because of his love for her and the businesses they own together.
Another source alleged that Odartey intermittently physically assaulted Gloria and on one occasion he even pulled a knife on her and slashed her arms.
According to them, Odartey knew he did not father the kids because medical reports had shown he had low sperm count.
It also stated that Nii Odartey bought a car as Xmas gift for his eldest daughter in the university, adding that the children are lovely and brilliant.
“Odartey has always cared for the children. If he knew all this while they were not his why has he been caring for them as his own,” the source close to the family enquired and described Gloria as a nice person who had endured a lot with Odartey.
On the other hand, Promising Fashion Designer/Actor and one of two Ghana's representative at this year’s Big Brother Africa reality television show, Elikem Kumordzi, has denied ever having an affair with Odartey Lamptey’s wife, Gloria.

Elikem reacted to revelations made Thursday, November 28, 2013, on rumour segment “Akika kika” on Okay FM’s drive time program “Ekwanso dwodwo” hosted by Abeiku Santana, where it was alleged that Elikem had been having a secret affair with the footballer’s wife even before he went into the Big Brother house in May 2013.

They further alleged that Elikem may possibly be the father to at least one of the three children after Odartey Lamptey disclosed on radio that a DNA test he subjected himself to reveals he is apparently not the father of all his three kids.

He flatly rejected the claims, suggesting the equation doesn't add up, and even went ahead to throw a jab at those spreading the rumors calling them “fools”.

The estranged couple are reportedly now in court.

EFCC uncovers how former Head of Service, Oronsaye, others stole over N6 billion!

Information at our disposal raveled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has uncovered how Steve Oronsaye, a former Head of Service, and other top directors of the Nigerian Civil Service colluded to defraud the nation of about N6.2 billion pension fund.

Mr. Stephen Oronsaye
Steve Orosaye
The fund, allegedly stolen through a maze of bogus contracts, was meant for biometric enrollment and payment for computer accessories that were never supplied.
Mr. Oronsaye, 63, was appointed the Head of the Nigerian Civil Service in 2009.
According to a reliable source in the EFCC, between 2009 and 2010, almost N6 billion in fake contracts were awarded and paid for under Mr. Oronsaye’s supervision.
A few weeks ago, Mr. Oronsaye was invited by the anti-graft commission to answer questions relating to the multi billion naira pension fund.
Mr. Oronsaye wouldn’t comment for this story. When contacted on Sunday, the former head of service said he was in a meeting.
"He did not honour our request for him to return our call after his meeting. He also did not respond to a text message sent to him".
The fraud
According to the EFCC, Innovative Solutions and Project Limited, a company allegedly handpicked by Mr. Oronsaye, received a contract of to the tune of N63 million for biometric data capture.

The contract, however, served as a conduit through which three individuals and five companies got N705,368,245.
Other companies who reportedly had no contract to participate in the biometric data capture exercise but were paid include:

  • Frederick Hamilton Global Limited, who received N119,398,500;
  • Xangee Technologies got N153,146,719;
  • Fatidek Venture received N30,056,000; while Obanlado Enterprises was paid N96,765,400.00.
During its investigations, the EFCC reportedly uncovered how Phina Chidi, a deputy director in the Pension Account at the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF, who had given a written statement to the commission in January, 2011, disclosed to the agency how she was made to shop for companies that would execute contracts and make returns to Mr. Oronsaye.
“I was asked by Dr. Shuaibu (Teildi Shuaibu, director, Pension Account) to shop for company names to execute our contracts, proceeds of which should be given to Mr. Stephen Oronsaye  the then Head of Service,” Mrs. Chidi said in her latest statement.
It was gathered that Mrs. Chidi also detailed how the proceeds of such deals were kept in the accounts of two banks before a certain Mr. Shuaibu helped to transfer them to Mr. Oronsaye.
Individuals who reportedly benefited from the string of payments, allegedly made on the eve of Mr. Oronsaye’s retirement as Head of Service, include Kate Chinwe Obiekwe, Ibrahim Abdulkarim and Mohammed Abdullahi Ahmed who were allegedly paid the sum of N56,612,585.00, N80,108,640.00 and N23,760.00 respectively.

The trio, who are officials of the OHCSF pension, received the “collective allowance” – allowances paid out to an officer of the OHCSF for distribution to other staff who are supposedly meant to be on a trip, contrary to Federal Government directives on e-payment.
Others who also benefited from the payments include Innovative Solutions and Project Limited and Vivians Ebony Nigeria Enterprise.
The former is said to have a N63 million worth of contract with the Office of the Head of Service but its emergence as the preferred contractor is in breach of the procurement process since the contact for the biometric exercise was not advertised.

Also, a Certificate of no-objection was reportedly, not obtained by the office of the Head of Service from the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, although Mr. Oronsaye allegedly indicated in his statement before the EFCC that he made an informal request to the BPP about the process involved.
Information also revealed that apart from breaching the procurement process, the contract awarded to Innovative Solutions and Project Limited was also fraught with a series of irregular and inflated payments made to the company, according to the EFCC.
Robert Ikhaziboh, the Chief Executive of the company, allegedly admitted to EFCC investigators that he was instructed by one Osarenkhoe Afe, an IT consultant and nominee of Mr. Oronsaye as member of the Pension Reform Committee, to work with two companies – Upstrach Communication and Federick Hamilton Global Limited – with specific instructions on the amount to pay the companies whenever he received payment.
When questioned by the EFCC, Mr. Afe reportedly stated that Frederick Hamilton was paid N289.05 million for its contract, out of which he got N35 million and Mr. Oronsaye received N250 million through third parties. Mr. Afe stated that he was willing to make a refund.
Under questioning by the EFCC on December 7,2013, PREMIUM TIMES learnt, Mr. Oronsaye claimed ignorance of some of the companies that had received bogus payments and had been traced back to him.
Mr. Oronsaye also reportedly claimed ignorance of Xangee Technologies, Fatidek Ventures and Obalano Enterprises and said he never approved any payment to them.
However, when provided with evidence of payment to these companies, Mr. Oronsaye reportedly became silent, sources at the commission said.
