Local hunters rescue 30 out of 200 abducted Nigerian school girls!

Chibok Hunters
The CableNG Newspaper reports that 30 out of the over 200 Chibok school girls kidnapped from the community by Boko Haram in April and an additional two young victims have been reportedly rescued by some local hunters.
It was alleged that the hunters stormed the sect’s hideout and successfully rescued 30 of the Chibok school girls, a young boy and another 10-year-old girl.
A military source who reportedly spoke to The CableNG says, “All 32 escapees and the hunters who helped them to escape are currently with soldiers.”
Now that it's obviously up to some local hunters to rescue our girls, i sincerely want to think the military still have their plans on how to tackle the escalating insecurity situation in Nigeria.

FIFA suspends Nigeria!

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was today suspended by the world football governing body FIFA, for government interference.
A statement published on FIFA’s website on Wednesday, confirmed that its Emergency Committee reached the verdict because of a breach of its Statutes, as it concerns a member association independently running their affairs.
The decision follows a letter sent by FIFA to the NFF on 4 July, where it expressed great concern after the NFF was served with court proceedings and consequently an order preventing the president of the NFF, the NFF Executive Committee members and the NFF Congress from running the affairs of Nigerian football was granted by a High Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The statement stated that: “The suspension will be lifted once the properly elected NFF executive committee, the NFF general assembly and the NFF administration are able to work without any interference in their affairs.”
Last week, the Aminu Maigari-led board were sacked by a court that sat in Plateau and a NFF congress which confirmed his dismissal were warned by FIFA, but the NFF chose to go ahead and risk FIFA’s wrath.

Well, seems like they got the wrath.

Nigerian Army absolves personnel of brt mayhem induced by soldier's death!

Information reaching us revealed that the Nigerian Army has absolved her personnel of mayhem caused by soldier's death.

This came as it was confirmed that one of its personnel allegedly hit by a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle last Friday in Lagos, died.

News has it that although the Army gave the rank of the deceased as a lance corporal, they declined to give his identity for security reasons.
In a statement from 81 Division of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday, and reportedly signed by its spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Omale Ochagwuba, the Nigerian Army denied that personnel of the force were responsible for burning down brt vehicles along Ikorodu road Lagos.
A lance corporal of Nigerian Army, who was on his way to the office on Ikorodu Road around Obanikoro area between 6:30 and 6:45am was knocked down and killed by a BRT bus with registration number KSF 995 XJ.
“It is pertinent to state here that the late soldier was riding a power bike approved by the state government and he was neither riding inside a BRT lane nor was the BRT bus that killed him driving inside the BRT lane.
“The innocent law-abiding soldier was killed on the normal lane being plied by everybody as against what is being alleged by some sections of the media. The soldier was hit from the rear and killed instantly.”
The Army absolved its personnel of any blame for the mayhem induced by the soldier’s death.
“The mayhem that was visited on the BRT buses was the handiwork of hoodlums who seized the opportunity of the tragic situation to vent their anger on the buses for reasons best known to them.
“We know the peculiar nature of Lagos, where miscreants always take advantage of situations like this to cause havoc. In a situation like this, people are bound to wrongfully accuse soldiers because they were seen around the offending bus which was not even attacked.
“With careful analysis of the incident, one will observe that the BRT buses vandalised were far removed from the scene of the accident.” He said.

The 21-year-old Redeemer’s University student who made headlines for killing his father has opened up on the incident, leading to the killing of his father.
The 300-level student of the Department of History and International Relations, while speaking to reporters said he was ready to face the consequences of his action.
According to Daily Post, the suspect spoke on Tuesday at the Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta, Ogun state.
“there is no way Nigerians can help me. I am going to face my judgement. I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is not as if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable – something that is going to happen; I am just waiting for it.
“My mother is still grieving. I have sent some people to talk to her that I am sorry. I want to give her time. I have talked to my sister. I have asked for forgiveness.”
“The incident happened around 1 a.m. when the church would have been sleeping by then. It was anger that led me to this. There was an argument between us and I stood up to him.
He beat me with a stick and bit me with his teeth repeatedly. Just the two of us were at home; my mother was in Abuja.
I tried to defend myself, then he bit me on my shoulder and I got angry. I used normal small kitchen knife and a cutlass to attack him. I regret the action.
My father came for a programme; then, my school was on break, so I went to meet him. We were meant to go back to Abuja together, then the incident happened and I am here.”
