AU Peacekeeping - Britain To Deploy Troops To Africa!

Britain is expected to get more involved in new peacekeeping
commitments by sending an estimated number of 70 troops
to Somalia to reinforce African Union peacekeepers currently
fighting al-Shabab, the Islamist extremist group operating
there and in parts of Kenya.
In like manner, over 200 troops is expected to be sent to
South Sudan to help with fallout from the country’s civil war,
which has displaced about million people and contributed to
refugee crisis in Europe.
This development is coming from pressure mounted
on 50 nations by the United States, to contribute
more to international peacekeeping efforts either by
dispatching boots on the ground or with medical and
intelligence support.
British Prime Minister David Cameron, disclosed this
on Monday September 28, ahead of the  much anticipated
United Nations summit on peacekeeping which will
be co-hosted by  U.S President, Barack Obama.
