Popular Hausa female singer, Hajuya sa'adatu aka Barnai Choge dies at 80

A renowned Hausa female singer, Hajiya Sa’adatu Aliyu, popularly known as ‘Barmani Choge,’ has died at the age of 80 in Funtua, Katsina State.

Alhaji Hamza Aliyu, one of her children, who confirmed the death to newsmen on yesterday, said the deceased died at her residence following a protracted illness last Saturday.
She is survived by six children and 60 grandchildren.

Late ‘Barmani Choge’ had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
