Lagos trader arrested for manufacturing and selling counterfeit drugs!


The trader pictured below, identified as  Chijioke Nwagu was arrested by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for allegedly manufacturing and selling counterfeit drugs.

From reports, NAFDAC said the suspect carried out the manufacturing of the drugs in the toilet of his two-bedroom flat where he mixes chemical in a 200-litre drum at his residence located at  Elemijaye Street, Ajamgbadi area of Lagos State.
Briefing journalists on Tuesday November 2, 2013, the Director-General of the agency,  Paul Orhii said the suspect is specialized in counterfeiting cough syrup.
He said, “Following an intelligence report and surveillance mounted at Alafia, Orile Iganmu, where Nwagu supplies counterfeit Tutolin with codeine cough syrup that he manufactures, operatives of NAFDAC intercepted and arrested one Uzodinma Odoemina with fake drugs
“Odoemina led investigators to Nwagu’s house where it was discovered that Nwagu carries out the illegal manufacture in the toilet of his house by pouring different locally-manufactured cough syrup of reputable companies into 200 litres drum and after mixing them, he then dispenses them into empty bottles and labels it as Tutolin with codeine cough syrup.
“In his house, we found, four cartons of Uniplex cough syrup, four rolls of Bancof cough expectorant, 50 bottles of Dr Meyers’ Coflin Cough Linctus, 1,500 bottles of Exiplon Epectorant, two cartons of Halfan tablet, 200 litres drum, one carton of Dr Nando double 77 keys to power and empty containers of these drugs as well.”
The suspect’s wife, Jane,  was arrested by the agency, the suspect claimed that he did not plan on selling the goods in Nigeria, saying there were meant for export to Benin Republic.
Nwagu said, “I bought the packaging material of Tutolin with codeine from one Chibuike in China and the product was meant to be supplied to Benin Republic. In the course of my business, I met one Chisom Onwudinjo, who came to my house to see how I manufacture my goods in my house.
“He subsequently agreed to be my distributor and he also accepted that we will not sell the product here in Nigeria.”

Paul Walker's Crash wasn’t due to drag racing - cops!


The Porsche Carrera GT that killed actor Paul Walker in a fiery crash was not in involved in a drag race at the time of the accident, according to authorities.

Speed and human error probably caused the fiery crash that killed Hollywood hunk Paul Walker, authorities and a source said Monday — shooting down rumors that the “Fast & Furious” actor died while drag racing.

‘I haven't met her yet’ -George Clooney!



George Clooney just hasn't found "the one."


The 52-year-old handsome heartthrob covered the art issues of W Magazine and answered one of Hollywood's most burning questions: Why is he still single?

"I haven't met her yet," Clooney told the fashion mag when asked about the love of his life.
The A-lister's famous ex-gal pals include Kelly Preston, model Elisabetta Canalis and his latest squeeze Stacy Keibler.



Clooney, who is promoting his upcoming film "The Monuments Men," posed for the special edition of W in a pictorial called "Spot the Star" donning a polka-dot suit.

He answered personal questions from five female artists on everything from his first cinematic crush to how much he misses home while on location as an actor.
"When I was a kid, I was in love with Audrey Hepburn. I watched 'Roman Holiday' when I was 11 and I thought she was as elegant as anything I'd ever seen," he said.
"And I fell madly in love with her. I also always loved Grace Kelly. I mean, when she comes out of the water in 'To Catch a Thief,' I thought, 'That's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.'"

Being a movie star isn’t always filled with glitz and glamour as Clooney explained how hard it is to be away from the people he cares about.
"I get desperately, depressingly homesick if I can't find a way to be near the people that bring joy wherever they go," he revealed.
"Spend a night with my parents battling over who was the rottenest child (My sister or me) …Or my friends pointing out how badly I destroyed a certain bat franchise."
Home is humor and love and responsibility … and I get homesick when the people who know that best … and I can't find time to be together," Clooney added.

The interviewers got really in depth with the studly star when they asked him if he talks while making love.
"Only on the phone," he said.
Other detailed parts of their chat featured Clooney answering, "If you could choose how to die then how?"
"Before my friends," he sincerely replied.

Golden Eaglets Receives 39.4 Million Reward In Kano!


Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, winners of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup, and officials have been rewarded with the sum of 39.4 million Naira (about 253,000 dollars) at a reception organised in honour of the team in Kano.
Receiving the players at the State Government House on Tuesday, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, said that the team made Nigeria proud and also announced a donation of 163.4 million Naira.
The total breakdown of the donation shows that two Eaglets’ players, who are from Kano, will be given three bedroom detached bungalow each at one of the three major cities of Kwankwasiyya, Amana, and Bandirawo and 15.6 million Naira. In addition, two streets at the new cities will be name after the boys.
The remaining 18 players will be given 250,000 Naira each, Chief Coach 500,000 Naira, assistants coach 300,000 Naira, seven backroom staff 200,000 Naira each and seven Nigeria Football Association staff to get 150,000 Naira each.
Also, Kano pillars prayers will be given 18 brand new Toyota Corolla for winning the champions league for the second time while officials will be given 700,000 Naira and 500,000 Naira respectively
The players and officials expressed gratitude to Governor Kwankwaso for honouring their success and promised to do more to make Nigeria proud.
