Golden Eaglets Receives 39.4 Million Reward In Kano!


Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets, winners of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup, and officials have been rewarded with the sum of 39.4 million Naira (about 253,000 dollars) at a reception organised in honour of the team in Kano.
Receiving the players at the State Government House on Tuesday, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, said that the team made Nigeria proud and also announced a donation of 163.4 million Naira.
The total breakdown of the donation shows that two Eaglets’ players, who are from Kano, will be given three bedroom detached bungalow each at one of the three major cities of Kwankwasiyya, Amana, and Bandirawo and 15.6 million Naira. In addition, two streets at the new cities will be name after the boys.
The remaining 18 players will be given 250,000 Naira each, Chief Coach 500,000 Naira, assistants coach 300,000 Naira, seven backroom staff 200,000 Naira each and seven Nigeria Football Association staff to get 150,000 Naira each.
Also, Kano pillars prayers will be given 18 brand new Toyota Corolla for winning the champions league for the second time while officials will be given 700,000 Naira and 500,000 Naira respectively
The players and officials expressed gratitude to Governor Kwankwaso for honouring their success and promised to do more to make Nigeria proud.
