Nick Cannon Surprises His Wife on Valentine's Day with a diamond heart-shaped pendant necklace!

Mariah Carey wanted to make sure Nick Cannon knew what he was missing on Valentine's Day.
The pop superstar revealed on Friday that she and her husband actually celebrated the romantic holiday the day before because he was going be in New Orleans for the 2014 Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
Naturally, the songbird shared several sexy selfies to her Instagram account, urging him to come home.
"Waiting for my Valentine...," the Grammy winner captioned a snapshot.
The 43-year-old is flaunting her enviable curves in a candy Sweetheart bra and plenty of glitter. She is resting—of course—in a bathtub, which is appropriately filled with red and pink balloons. Her long wavy honey locks are covering most of her face as she smiles for the camera.
"Still waiting," she anxiously wrote on another snapshot, before she busted out a glass of champagne.
Looks like the sizzling photographs did just the trick because Cannon surprised his wife and their twins Moroccan and Monroe.
"My funny Valentine has arrived! #YoureMineEternal I love you @NickCannon," Carey added with a photo of the lovebirds.
Cannon gave his wife a "You're Mine" diamond heart-shaped pendant necklace and added,"Had to give my beautiful wife a little Valentines Day Surprise!#YoureMine#Diamonds#CandyBra#ConfettiOnTheBody#PartyTime#PutTheKidsToBed."

Woman gets electrocuted while trying to save her daughter!

Seventeen-year-old Mojisola Masika escaped death on Tuesday when she was nearly electrocuted by electrified rainwater. But her joy was short-lived as she lost her mother, Bola, 56, who was electrocuted in the process of saving her life.
Mojisola and her mother (Bola)

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 1pm during a heavy rainfall, which snapped an electric cable at Hotel Bus-Stop, along Isheri-Iba Expressway, Lagos. They said the cable had rested on its pole and that Mojisola, who was by the pole, was overcome by electric shock caused by the effect of the detached cable on the rainwater. Bola was a vendor and her wooden kiosk is by the bus-stop with electric cables directly overhead.
Apart from Bola, a commercial motorcyclist, Omoniyi Ajele, 30, was also electrocuted.
Mojisola said tearfully, “My mother died for me. I was in the kiosk when I suddenly felt like I had epilepsy. I had stepped on the rainwater, which had been electrically charged by the cable. I was shaking and I heard my mother shouting for help, and then she held me. It was later in the night that I was told that my mother was electrocuted in the process.
“I’m grateful that I’m alive but I’m not really happy because my mother died while trying to save my life. She was everything to me and had promised to take care of my university education before her death. She worked very hard for us (her children) and had been saving money for my university education since the last 10 months. She was always fasting for us; even at the time of her death, my mother was undergoing a fasting programme. She had also told me to go ahead and find out about the cost of a training I told her about.”
Mojisola, who was planning to study Computer Science at the University of Lagos, said she would miss her mother’s love and support.
The mood at the Masika family residence on Olu Adegoke Street, Isheri-Oshun in Ijegun-Ikotun area of Lagos, was gloomy during our correspondent’s visit two days after the incident. Bola had been buried at the front of the house on Wednesday, a day after the incident and the family was preparing for her eighth day prayers, in accordance with Muslim funeral rites.
But shortly before the incident, Mojisola said the cable had thrown off electric sparks, prompting her mother to contemplate relocating to a new area.
Ironically, Bola moved to Hotel bus-stop form Ejigbo area of Lagos about 12 years ago following an oil pipeline explosion, which had killed a number of persons there.
Her husband, Moshood Masika, said, “After the pipeline explosion at Ejigbo, she decided to leave the area even though she was not affected by it. She wanted a safer place to do her business, but who would have known that she was leaving Ejigbo for another dangerous place. We will miss her because she was a good woman.”
Bola’s first daughter, Iyabo, who burst into tears while speaking with our correspondent, said living without her mother would be “very painful for the family because of her love, care and strength.”
Confirming the story, eyewitnesses said they ran to Bola’s kiosk when they heard her cry for help.
A commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Bashiru Azeez, explained that he and Ajele had run to the kiosk to help Mojisola when they saw Bola fall down.
But we didn’t know initially that it was electric shock, we thought the two of them were having seizures. So we tried to attend to Mojisola, who was already showing signs of dying. Ajele asked me to quickly get a spoon to put in Mojisola’s mouth, but before I returned, Ajele had also died,” he said.
Azeez said that some soldiers who were passing in a vehicle branded ‘OP MESA’ had assisted in getting Mojisola to the General Hospital, Igando.
“Many of us thought she was dead, only to later hear that she survived the incident,” he added.
Ajele was also been buried on Wednesday in Ondo State, the day he had planned to have his child’s naming ceremony.
Another resident, Olubayo Adeniji, said there had been several complaints made to electricity officials in the past about weak cables in the area, but that they never heard from the officials.
This is not the first time that we will experience electric sparks in the area; we have complained several times to the officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (now IKEDC) but nothing happened,” he said.
On Thursday however, officials from Igando Undertaking Unit, were at the scene of the incident to correct the electrical fault. While work was going on, some community elders had to intervene to stop some aggrieved youths from attacking the officials.
The Assistant General Manager, Public Affairs, Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, Pekun Adeyanju, said he would need to get in touch with the Business Unit at Ikotun, to know if complaints had been made by residents in the past concerning the electric cables at Hotel Bus-Stop.
He also urged people who live or work under electric cables to relocate because of the risk of electrocution.
He said, “I will need some time to get in touch with our Business Manager at Ikotun Business Unit, but we have written several letters to the Lagos State Government about the situation in many places across the state where people live or have shops under power lines.
“It’s dangerous but we cannot force them to leave these places because we don’t have the power to do so. We often talk to people who are affected by this and they tell us that they don’t have any other alternative.”

It's not yet time to throw a party on our anniversary –Foluke Daramola!

Despite controversies that surrounded her marriage to Kayode Salako, the love between Foluke Daramola and her hubby seems to be waxing stronger than some expected.
As they clocked one year in marriage on 15th February, the couple felt it was not yet time to celebrate.

According to information gathered, the couple said they would rather celebrate the anniversary “together, alone and quietly.” Fortunately, February 15 was also Foluke’s birthday, so it was a double celebration for the duo.
There was so much noise concerning our marriage; so we have decided to spend our first anniversary together. We intend to go out of town to somewhere quiet; just me and my husband. We could later celebrate it in a big way but for now, things would be quiet,” the actress said.

The actress and some of her colleagues, under the aegis of N17, held a walk against domestic violence where She told Saturday Beats that they embarked on the walk because at some point in their lives, some of the members of the group were victims of domestic violence.
Some of our members are Yomi Fashlanso, Fathia Balogun, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, Ronke Ojo and Muyiwa Ademola. We are a bridge between the common man, government and the private sector. At a point in our lives, we were victims of domestic violence,” she said.

1.3 million people in need of aid as CAR disarmament drive fails to capture militia leader!

Troops conducted house-to-house searches for several hours in a neighbourhood of Bangui believed to be a base for attacks against Muslims.
Automatic weapons, grenades, knives and ammunition were reportedly confiscated.
More than 250 military personnel were deployed in the disarmament drive.
The peacekeepers hope to secure the northern district of Boy Rabe.
It is a base for the anti-balaka militia - formed in response to killings by Muslim rebels and now blamed for their own revenge attacks.
However, operation was not entirely successful as some of the militia refused to disarm and one of its top leaders, Patrice Edouard Ngaissona, escaped capture.
The city's chief prosecutor said Mr Ngaissona was "the big fish who had to be detained", according to AFP news agency.
The United Nations refugee agency has described the situation as "a humanitarian catastrophe of unspeakable proportions".
The UN's World Food Programme says that about 1.3 million people - a quarter of the population - are in need of aid.

Court acquits ex-Speaker, Bankole, of contract inflation, embezzlement of N874 million!

A Federal High Court in Abuja discharged and acquitted former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole friday, of contract inflation and fraudulent embezzlement of public funds totalling N874 million while in office.
Evoh Chukwu who presided over the case, cleared the former Speaker of any complicity in a 16-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Commission had dragged Mr. Bankole to court for allegedly being involved in the purchase of two bullet-proof Range Rover vehicles, two non-bulletproof Range Rover, three Mercedes Benz S-Class 600 cars, 400 units of DSTV system, 400 television sets, 800 units of desktop computers, 100 units of Sharp Digital photographers, and 400 units of Laserjet 2600N.
Purchases the commission said contravened Section 17 to 56 of the Procurement Act No. 14 of 2007.

Relying on the testimonies given by six witnesses called by the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Chukwu said no error was committed in the process leading to the award of the said contracts to warrant the Speaker being asked to enter his defence in trial.
The judge said the prosecution, led by Festus Keyamo, failed to establish a prima facie case against Mr. Bankole to justify the demand that he should enter defence in the N874 million contract fraud against him.
Stating that the prosecution could not prove that the former Speaker colluded with others to commit the crime as covered by counts 3, 6, 9, 12, 13 and 14 of the charge.
From the totality of the testimonies of the six witnesses, nothing shows any act of collusion on the part of the accused person,” the judge said.
Nothing shows that he interfered with the process of the award of the contracts. No mention about anybody fronting for him was made by the prosecution witnesses and the process was also said to have complied with the requirements.
“Based on the totality of these witnesses’ testimonies, I hold that there is nothing to justify his being called to enter his defence as none of the essential ingredients have been proved by the prosecution”
Mr. Chukwu noted that the court would be engaging in inquisitorial trial if it insisted that the accused must prove his innocence.
According to him, in line with Nigeria’s adversarial criminal procedure, the prosecution must prove its case against the accused.
“In the end, the no-case submission of the accused person succeeds. The accused is hereby discharged and acquitted,” the judge said.

An Abuja High Court had previously acquitted the former Speaker of charges bordering on breach of trust and illegally obtaining loan of about N9 billion for the lower legislative chamber.

Gaza fisherman hooks statue of ancient Greek god Apollo!

Jwdat Abu Ghrb initially thought it was a corpse, when he spotted a dark shape in the waters off Gaza, where he was fishing. It was a life-size bronze statue, believed to be a 2,500-year-old depiction of the ancient Greek god ApolloA green spot had formed on the leg of the statue, which is exposed to the air.

Ghrb described the half-ton object as "treasure pulled out of the sea.

Petrified, he narrated the incident: "I put on my goggles, dove underneath and still couldn't tell what it was. I resurfaced and got some help from other people and family members and came back, and after full four hours of trying we managed to get it out of the water and I was shocked by what I found."

"I thought it was made of gold; I was going to be rich," Ghrb said. "So I took it home to hide it.

Other people got involved, as a local armed brigade took control of the statue, while another person listed it for sale on the online auction site eBay, with a starting price of about $500,000, according to authorities.

The posting raised suspicions among officials in the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Interior Ministry in Gaza, which is governed by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.

The Ministry opened an investigation into what they suspected was an illegal attempt to sell the work of art. Authorities there asked that the statue, as a historical artifact found in Gaza, be handed over but they have hidden it from public view.

A gold store in Gaza however, a man who displayed video of the statue told said that he has custody of it and that it is in safe hands. Government officials promise that the statue will not be sold and that they will start restoration and display it after an investigation into its discovery is completed.

Authority are working on a plan for the statue to be displayed in world-class museums around the world. Museum authorities in Geneva, Switzerland, have offered to help repair and preserve the statue, and plan for its eventual display in Gaza
