See what tanker drivers have turned the Mile 2, Apapa express way to....
Long queue stretching from Tincan Island, to "2nd Rainbow" bus stop...
For some time now, this has become their parking lot......
Authorities should do something....because they not only occupy the little space available for motorists thereby causing heavy traffic, the ones parked on top of the Mile 2 bridge may cause more havoc, as the bridge might be getting weaker each day due to these heavy duty trailers....
“As of now, the situation has not warranted such drastic actions like recalling our envoys in the South African country. We are big brothers of Africa. We cannot retaliate by recalling our envoys because it will send wrong signals which could affect their economy.
“Even countries whose citizens were killed and got their shops looted, had not taken such action.”
Those were the submissions made the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, the minister of state for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and the Nigerian envoys in South Africa, Messrs Uche Ajulu- Okeke, and Martin Cobham, on Tuesday, when they pleaded with Nigerians to forgive the South Africans over their recent Xenophobic attacks against foreigners living in their country.
Ambassador wali explained that what happened in South Africa was not targeted at Nigerians and that the incident had negatively affected few Nigerians.
“On the Zulu king, the South African Human Rights Commission is already investigating his roles, hence we need to wait for the outcome of the investigation so that we don’t assume holier than thou status.
“What we need to do now is to make sure that there is support from our government to make sure that Nigerians affected are well taken care of.”
He said.
From the statement, it was raveled that two Nigerians were wounded and hospitalized; Five shops looted; Two families which included six women and eight children were also displaced. A total of N84m which was estimated as damages done to Nigerians had been calculated and being processed on behalf of the victims, as compensation.
“We cannot rely on the Xenophobic postings on the social media because they were not authorized by the authorities. Already, certain sites were being blocked in order not to incite the citizenry against the foreigners.”
“Any further negative actions taken against them will adversely affect them. We should not allow this particular incident to destroy our past efforts in South Africa which Nigerians contributed immensely to assist in getting out of the apartheid.” He concluded.
On his part Senator Obanikoro added, “since kings in Africa don’t admit mistakes or offer apology publicly, for Zulu to have done this, means it’s his own way of offering an apology.” he said.
“We will ensure that compensation is paid to all the affected victims and their envoy in Nigeria had not given us any cause to doubt this.” he said.
The video below was discretely captured at about 5am, Friday, April 24, 2015...
According to an eye witness, the cause of dispute was: "prostitute / Client pay me my money", and "I no go pay, because I no do". Before one could say "Oga...whether you do, or no do..pay"
Kasala burst.... as fight ensured at the first major intersection inside Lekki phase 1, adjacent to Farm City Supermarket.
The prostitute striped herself naked, hauling all kind of curses and "vulgar" words at her male client, while the infuriated dude kept going at her with punches. The other ladies of the night rant on, at same time beckoned on early morning potential clients as they drove by.
Booom......Crash was the sound from the black SUV's windshield, after the prostitute staggered across the road, with a heavy stone towards the dude's vehicle....
This erupted another round of a free for all "Dis-royal-Rumble"....as discretely caught on camera below:
Information gathered revealed that the dude must be very familiar with the Lekki Phase 1 Sex Workers, as one of the ladies pleaded:
"Kayode (who ever this dude is) ...dont do this, Kayode please leave her...... Another lady, ...had to drive the SUV to a safe location, in front of Lekki Phase 1, Association Pavilion, while the fight went on.
Observers laments that the hitherto siren middle/ upper class residential Lekki Phase 1 estate, is rapidly becoming a haven for "commercial sex workers" at night....
South African's Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, on Tuesday said soldiers will be deployed to quell anti-immigrant violence that has killed at least seven people in several weeks of unrest. This came as the government vowed to to crack down strongly on the unrest, the decision to put soldiers on the streets came after two nights of relative quiet in both cities. Mapisa-Nqakula told reporters, "We come in as the last resort, the army will serve as a deterrent". The defense minister however declined to give details on how many troops would be involved and where.
"There are people who will be critical, but those who are vulnerable will appreciate this decision," she said.
Reports says a U.S based doctor, Adeniran Abraham Ariyo recently called for the massacre of Igbos in Nigeria the way Nigerians are being killed in South Africa.
Dr. Abraham Ariyo wrote on Facebook:
“You see how they (the Igbos) are being slaughtered in South Africa. That’s what’s going to happen to them in Lagos…When are they (the Igbos) not going to be slaughtered in Abuja?…God might have put a curse on them (the Igbos)…We will continue to bus them (the Igbos) to Onitsha.” - Dr. Abraham Ariyo.
Ariyo reportedly removed all his pictures on Facebook, deleted his post and went into hiding following an outcry on the media.
As fate would have it, his messages were screened and printed Nigerians who saw it.
If this obnoxious facebook message is verified to be true, and not some mischievous moves from troublesome individuals, it is then disappointing. Let us bear in mind that nobody has the right to take someone, else's life, let alone, a whole ethnic sect. We'v got to watch what we say or instigate on social media. Bros Dr....if true true say with all your education, exposure and enlightenment, you talk this kain thing....make you remember say "International Criminal Court still dey try crimes against humanity, and prosecute offenders. Leave your comments on this folks.....
News has it that Justin Beiber and his entourage walked to the artist's entrance during the Chachella Music and Arts Annual Festival, whereDrake's was performing Sunday night, but was stopped by security and told the area was filled.
Despite showing security that they had the proper wristbands and that he was invited by Drake himself, and had waited all weekend to see him perform. Bieber didn't stand down and security was pissed.
At that point a Coachella staffer came up to Bieber and offered to escort him inside the artist's area. She grabbed Bieber by the arm and began walking him and his security team inside, when Coachella security came up from behind and put Bieber in a chokehold.
We're told Bieber's team got into it with security and the singer was then ordered to leave the festival.
At the end, Bieber voluntarily left the event, it was however, gathered that he is considering taking legal action against the security guards.
