Crisis Rock Lagos Water Corporation!
The Lagos State Water Corporation (Lagos Water House) - Ijora, Lagos - Nigeria, is currently undergoing internal crisis following the change in it's helm of affairs.
Information revealed that due to allegations of financial misappropriation leveled against the former leadership, the corporation is facing serious financial challenges in terms of coming up with funds to settle its pensioners and to procure chemicals needed to process the state's water supply, to mention a few. As a result, for some days, there was a suspense in water supplies to homes and offices in Lagos State that relies on the LWC for water supply.
This situation reached it's peak on Wednesday 18th November, when activities in most of the organizations that occupy the premises was brought to a 'stand-still', and visitors complained bitterly about lack of water in the rest - rooms to flush after usage, and power outage during working hours because the generator packed-up.
Being without 'Water Supply' in a premises that is supposed to supply water to an entire state due to allegations of 'mismanagement and financial misappropriation issues' is not acceptable and therefore can not be condoned if any responsible government must thrive.
This is calling on the authorities to 'look into this matter', and restore some sanity there.
