Lagos Governor Promises To Rescue BMJSS Kidnapped School Girls Soon!

Gunmen, about 15 in number, one of them said to be masked, stormed Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary (BMJSSpremises, a co-educational secondary school owned by the Lagos Anglican Diocese in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Monday, March 1st, at about 8pm, shooting sporadically, and kidnapped three senior secondary girls.
Reports has it that the pupils were studying in the Science and Technology Block near the hostel for their examinations, when the gunmen invaded. The hoodlums were resisted by some male students who engaged them in a fight, but had to retreat when the hoodlums inflicted machete cuts on one of them. 
The arrival of the school’s security men, who joined the students, forced the invaders to escape through the fence, but not after kidnapping three female students.
During her visit to the school, on Wednesday, march 2, Lagos state deputy governor, Dr (Mrs) Idiat Oluranti Adebule, gave an assurance that the administration, with the combined efforts of all the security agencies will ensure that the children, are rescued very soon.

Abducted Nigerian Teenager Arrives Bayelsa, To Undergo Medical Examination Before Re-Uniting With family!!

 Bayela State Police Commissioner, Peter Ogunyanwohas confirmed that 14-year old girl, Ese Oruru, who was reportedly abducted in August 2015 by Yunusa Dahiru, 'Yellow', in Bayelsa state, southern Nigeria  and taken to Kano in northern Nigeria, where she was also allegedly converted to Islam and married off, has been returned to Bayelsa state.

Ese arrived Bayelsa State in company of her mother, Mrs Rose Oruru and some police officers from Abuja- Nigeria's capital city. Reported to be Five months pregnant, Ese Oruru is to undergo some medical examinations before being reunited with her family. 



Ben Carson Bows Out Of U.S Presidential Race?

One of United states Republican Party flag bearers and retired neurosurgeon, Ben Carson, on Super Tuesday, March 1st, after paltry performances in the nominating contests, decided that there was no political path forward for his campaign and that he will not attend the Republican presidential debate on Thursday, March 3rd night, signalling an end to his candidacy.



I do not see a political path forward in light of last evening’s Super Tuesday primary results,” ...
...“However, this grassroots movement on behalf of ‘We the People’ will continue.” Carson said in a statement. 

...I appreciate the support, financial and otherwise, from all corners of America,” Mr. Carson said. “Gratefully, my campaign decisions are not constrained by finances; rather by what is in the best interests of the American people.” He said.

Buhari Sends Congratulatory Message To Adeboye On His 74th Birthday!

In a statement  issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a congratulatory message to the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye who turned 74 on Wednesday, March 2.


In the message, Muhammadu Buhari commends the relentless efforts, sacrifices and the grace of God upon the life of the General Overseer, who has over the years propagated the gospel around the world, organized large gathering of Christian worshipers and consistently counselled leaders and their citizens on living right before God.
President Buhari also salutes the social and humanitarian interventions of the Cleric in providing health and educational services to complement the efforts of governments, and prayed that the Almighty God grants Pastor Adeboye long life and more strength to carry on the good work.

Boko - Haram Spies Arrested!

Four men, Victor Moses, Abubakar Shettima, Salisu Mohammed Bello and Umar Sadiq Madaki suspected to be Boko Haram terrorist spies, who carry out surveillance mission for the terrorist sect on target for suicide bombings or attacks, are currently undergoing interrogation after they were paraded by the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Abraham Dusu at the Brigade’s Headquarters, Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi on Monday, February 29.

One of the suspects, Victor Moses ran out of luck when he went to a mosque in Bauchi , northern Nigeria, and pretended that he wanted to be converted to Islam. The people suspected he was not genuine and promptly reported the matter.

On interrogation Moses confessed to spying targets for suicide bomb attacks including that of the Catholic Church Madalla, Suleja, Niger State - Central Nigeriaon Christmas day, 25th December 2011. 

Victor Moses also confirmed that he was working for an Islamic cleric in Gombe-  northeastern Nigeria,  who is reportedly now at large and that their point of contact was Abubakar Shetima based in the city of Jos, in the Middle Belt of Nigeria.

Niger Delta Communities Sue Shell Over Oil Spill Negligence!

The Ogale community in Rivers State, with about 40,000 people who are mainly farmers and fishermen, and the Bille community, who are also mainly fishermen  have sued Royal Dutch Shell plc, in London for the second time in five years over spills in the Niger Delta.  


The law suit points to a November 2015 Amnesty International report which says the four spill sites Shell says it planned to clean up are still contaminated. The case is handled by Leigh Day law firm.
According to reports, the first court hearing is due on Wednesday, March 2nd, at the Technology and Construction Court, which will determine if the claimants can proceed to lodge a case against Shell's Nigerian business, known as Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC).

Shell said the case which is at an "early stage" in reviewing should be heard in Nigeria.
