Defence Headquarters Warns NDA Of The Consequences Of Their Actions!

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has categorically stated that it will not hesitate to deploy every available resources to deal decisively with any threats to economic lifeline of the nation.

This warning came at the heels of the threat made by a group in the Niger Delta region of the country, who call themselves the Niger Delta Avengers, as they allegedly vowed to cripple economic activities through pipeline vandalism, oil theft and kidnap of expatriate workers in Niger Delta.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016, the Defense Headquarters warned that "The military will employ all available means and measures within its Rule of Engagement to crush any individual or group that engages in the destruction of strategic assets and facilities of the government in the Niger Delta or any other location and they will stand to regret the consequences of their actions.   The whole world has seen what they are causing in terms of economic terrorism against the nation and would be treated as criminals in line with the laws of the land.
Reaffirming its commitment to safety and protection of law abiding members of the community and oil companies, the DHQ said in the statement that "While the military and other security agencies would continue to emplace more proactive measures within the creeks and other places to fish out those responsible for the heinous crime, it will remain focused and assure oil companies and law abiding community members of their safety and protection of their sanctity".
Furthermore, "The DHQ  advices the community leaders, Traditional Rulers and the general public to cooperate with the security agencies to ensure the apprehension of the culprits for the interest of our great nation; as no individual or group interest is above national interest of this country".

Egypt Clamps Down On Anti-Government Protesters!

With the recent clamp-down on members of the Atfal al-Shawarea (Street Children), Egyptian anti protest law continue to draw criticism from human rights organisations around the globe.

Members of the Atfal al-Shawarea, an online satirical troupe were arrested Monday evening, May, 9th for allegedly inciting protests and publishing videos that insult state institutions.

The arrests came not long after a recently posted video criticised the crackdown on anti-government protests, which was partly ignited by the handover of two Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia, and the arrest of journalists, a move that sparked another round of protests involving the press syndicate in Cairo, Egypt's capital city.
