Egypt Clamps Down On Anti-Government Protesters!

With the recent clamp-down on members of the Atfal al-Shawarea (Street Children), Egyptian anti protest law continue to draw criticism from human rights organisations around the globe.

Members of the Atfal al-Shawarea, an online satirical troupe were arrested Monday evening, May, 9th for allegedly inciting protests and publishing videos that insult state institutions.

The arrests came not long after a recently posted video criticised the crackdown on anti-government protests, which was partly ignited by the handover of two Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia, and the arrest of journalists, a move that sparked another round of protests involving the press syndicate in Cairo, Egypt's capital city.
