Prince Harry and Prince William Give Guy Pelly's Memphis Wedding the Royal Touch!

32-year-old British nightclub owner and entrepreneur Guy Pelly  married his ladylove Elizabeth Alleen Wilson in Memphis Saturday, and his best mates Prince Harry and Prince Williams and were there to give the nuptials a royal touch.

The duo arrived at the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club at 5:30 p.m. to attend the formal ceremony, with guests taking their seats on white chairs in a garden.

According to source, "The bride arrived in a classic blue Thunderbird just before the 6pm ceremony began,". 

The source continued. "A boys choir performed along with a cello ensemble. Lizzie looked beautiful in a jeweled dress with a sheer overlay and a crown of white flowers in her hair."

The couple's vows lasted about 30 minutes, with William and Harry looking "overjoyed" for their friend during the ceremony. "You could see they are very close," the source added. "They were all hugging each other and shaking hands."

Justice Oputa dies at goes home!

News reaching Roving Informant reveals that Former Judge of the Supreme Court and Chairman - Oputa Panel, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa passed on Sunday afternoon at the age of 96.

Charlyboy’s daughter, Yvonne Oputa who confirmed the sad news to some journalists in a highly emotional laden voice reportedly said, ”papa is gone. He left us this afternoon.”  

The Oputa family also issued an official statement regarding the death of the former jurist. 

In a statement issued on Sunday on behalf  of the family and signed by the deceased son Charles Oputa (Charlyboy), the family announced that, ”The Family of Justice Chukwudifu Oputa wishes to announce the passing to glory of the eminent jurist and a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria at the age of 96″. 

He passed on peacefully on Sunday afternoon, 4th May 2014, after recovering from a brief illness.

19-year-old suicide bomber arrested in Yobe!

According to reports, a deadly attack on the A Division Police Station has been averted by the Police in Yobe state at the central roundabout in Damaturu, the state capital.

Information allegedly given by the State Police Commissioner Sanusi Rufai, revealed that  a 19-year-old alleged suicide bomber identified as Abubakar Umar was caught while trying to park a  Blue Chevrolet pick-up van in the early hours of Sunday, which he drove in front of the station in a suspicious manner.

“The vigilant policemen on duty immediately noticed his suspicious movement and fired some warning shots when the suicide bomber ran on the sandbags in front of the police station and he was arrested.

“After serious interrogation by the police, Abubakar Umar confessed that he is a Boko Haram and his mission to Damaturu was to come and bomb the police station and kill as many policemen as he can,” Rufai stated.

CP Rufai also informed that “the vehicle was carrying animal dung apparently as a decoy of concealing the explosives from prowling eyes of security agents”.

Speaking on the items recovered in the botched attack, CP Sanusi said: “we discovered five constructed gas cylinders with explosive improvised devices(EIDs), 20 liters of AGO(diseal), 10 liters of PMS(petrol), one fire extinguisher, 5 9.5 battery chargers and a wall clock in the car”.

He said the Police Bomb Squad condoned off the place and effectively diffused all the bombs.

The army also confirmed the failed attack.

Director of Defence Information Major General Chris Olukolade in a statement explained that an attempt was made to bomb the police station but was foiled by the police.

“An attack by suicide bombers operating in a pick up vehicle laden with IEDs was this morning foiled in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital. The target of the attack was the A Divison Police Station situated by the main round about in the heart of the town. The attempt was however foiled as culprit was arrested by the police personale on duty…

“A total of 6 already constructed turbines containers loaded with explosives as well as 20 liters of petrol and 11 bags of bean chaff have been recovered from the scene. The police anti bomb squad has safely detonated the explosives”, the statement said.

With Clancy tweeting about his concern over hundreds of abducted girls, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe responded accusing the Cable News Network of passing a editorial judgement without “hearing the view of the Nigerian Government.”

Names Of Kidnapped Chibok Schoolgirls released!

Names of the schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram gunmen from their dormitories on 15 April, 2014 have been released by The Christian Association of Nigeria.

According to source, the list released by Evangelist Matthew Owojaiye, President/Founder of Old Time Revival Hour, Kaduna and immediate past Chairman of Northern States Christian and Elders Forum (NOCSEF), an affiliate of CAN, contained 180 names, contrary to reports by Borno Police Command that 276 girls were initially abducted and that 223 remain missing.

In the statement, Owojaiye urged prayers for the girls to be set free and lamented that the “daughters of Zion have been taken captive, to be treated as slaves and sold into marriage to unclean people. Abomination has been committed.​ Raise lamentation to High Heavens. What a shame on the Church of the Living God.”

“Every Christian home must raise a lamentation to heaven daily. Let God arise and defend his Name, Honour and Majesty. Let a 15 minutes cry to heaven be done in every church every time they gather. Oh God, Rend the Heavens and come down! Why should the people say where is our God?

Owojaiye’s statement also contained a demand for compensation.

“We make the following demands of the Federal Government whose duty it was to protect the innocent girls: A N50 million damages as trauma compensation to each girl.Arrangement should be made to take each of the girls to an overseas university on government scholarship by September 2014. Preparation for that must start now!
SS1 and SS2 girls in that school must be transferred to schools of their choice at a cost to be borne by the government. How can any girl feel safe in this kind of school where she lives in perpetual fear of attack?”

Borno Gov. pressurized us into conducting Exams in Chibok – WAEC boss!

The Head of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Charles Eguridu has revealed that it was the Borno State Governor who pressurized his team to conduct examinations for the abducted girls in Chibok.

He made the disclosure at a stakeholders meeting convened by the First Lady, Patience Jonathan to seek a solution for the missing girls which has received widespread local and international attention.

Eguridu said WAEC asked that the exams be conducted in Maiduguri which is much safer than Chibok, however his request was rebuffed by the governor who assured of security in the small town where the girls were abducted.

“Following the previous experience, we were afraid to go to the North East this year, yet we risked it and asked for extra security through the Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike.

“We also asked the various state governments to relocate all the centres to the state capitals where there would be adequate security.

“The three governors did not respond to our request but instead said they had made adequate security arrangements.

“The Borno State government also refused to relocate the students from Chibok to safer places like Maiduguri. The Borno State government only agreed to relocate the remaining 189 pupils to Uba after the abduction of the girls.

“On the overall, 530 students registered for WAEC at the Chibok center: 135 males and 395 girls,” he said.

The WAEC boss presented the students bio data containing the passport photographs of all the 530 candidates that registered at the Chibok centre for this year’s examination.

He also tendered letters written to three North Eastern Governors by WAEC asking that the Governors conduct the exam in safer areas. It was only Shettima who requested, and at the last minute, that the exams be held in Chibok.

Two inmates dead, at least 100 injured in suspected gas explosion at Florida jail!

Two inmates were reportedly killed and between 100 and 150 prisoners and guards injured in an apparent gas explosion at a Escambia County jail located in the northwestern part of Florida - southern United States, late on Wednesday.




The blast according to a county official, partly leveled the four-story Escambia County Jail’s central booking facility, which held roughly 600 inmates, at about 11 p.m., county spokeswoman Kathleen Castro said. No escapees were reported.


“The building is still standing, it’s just unstable and partially collapsed,” Castro told Reuters, describing the incident as an “apparent gas explosion”.


“We have reports people heard an explosion and smelled gas. There was no fire,” she said, adding that the blast may have been related to severe storms that have hit the southern United States.
“The facility did receive extensive flooding as a result of the rains yesterday,” Castro said.

She said two inmates were killed and between 100 and 150 of those present were injured, adding it was unclear how the inmates died or the breakdown of injured inmates and guards.

A statement on the Escambia County website made no mention of gas, saying only it was an “apparent explosion” after earlier reporting it was “an apparent gas explosion”.

The facility, holds about 400 men and 200 women. Injured prisoners were being transported to hospital, with those uninjured being sent to other detention centers in Escambia County and neighboring Santa Rosa County, Castro said.

Castro described a frenetic scene where officials were scrambling to get people out of the building, provide medical care, and working to make sure inmates were detained and routed to other facilities. The search and rescue operation was ongoing, though the building had been secured.
