Developmental Lagos Project - Lekki Scheme 11 Coming Up!

We are back , this time with an interesting matter.......

Its about some recommendable  developmental progress at the relatively unknown, and tranquil Lekki Scheme 11 area, of Lagos State; hidden behind Ilaje bus-stop and Abraham Adesanya area of the Lekki Peninsula axis...

It was gathered that the Lekki Scheme 11 project has been on for quite a while, in what appeared to be a long term developmental project embarked on by the Lagos state government, some areas of the newly developing Lekki Scheme 11 project is beginning to look like its name...

How really Re-branded Are Our Public Hospitals?

A lot has been said about the 're-branding' of most Nigerian public sectors and facilities, Politicians especially use this slogan to canvass for votes.

Tune in to any local channel, and all you see are pictures of 're-branded' schools, railways, markets and hospitals.

Roving Informant went about town this week to see how really re-branded most of these claims are.

A visit to the Lagos Island General Hospital showed that peharps, a lot more needs to be done, for the re-branding claims to be visible.

Part view of the Lagos Island General hospital

Rightly, the buildings housing the various departments wore new looks, as doctors, nurses, and auxiliary staff were seen busying themselves with one emergency case or the other. Quite impressive one must commend. But that impression was short lived as we rovered into the casualty hall, only to see large number of patients wait for hours, just to be attended to by the casualty officer.

The doctor was on ground quite alright, but obviously had her hands full with patients to be attended to, and it appeared she was the only one on duty for that particularly task.....considering the number of cases brought into the hospital on daily basis, we wondered why they should all be left at the mercy of just one individual; where-as qualified medical professionals are all over the place, looking for employment.. why lay that magnitude of burden on the shoulders of just one individual???

Our next port of call was the scan center at the Island Maternity...just like the General Hospital, the building appeared re-painted, with some state of the art facilities here and there...

but, it appeared for one to get a scan, patience should be your watch word....no matter the urgency.

On closer look, it was revealed that there is only one scanning machine and operator for the large number of women, and men who visit the scan center on a daily basis.

Compared to what is obtained in the more advanced societies which we tend to emulate.....this is a far cry....We can do better than this!!!

Abii our own definition of 'Re-Branding' dey different??

Irate Crowd Kills Girl Suspected To Be A Suicide Bomber In Bauchi!

In what the Police described as "mob action carried out by an irate crowd", a crowd reportedly beat a teenage girl to death on the suspicion that she planned to detonate a bomb at a market in Bauchi - Nigeria, Sunday, March 1.
According to the story, the two girls aroused suspicion when they refusing to be searched as they arrived at the gate to a vegetable market, eyewitnesses said people overpowered one girl and discovered she had two bottles strapped to her body. They clubbed her to death, put a tire doused in fuel over her head and set it on fire.
A second suspect, also a teenage girl, was arrested at Muda Lawal, the biggest market in Bauchi city.
The Police however have their reservations on the incident, as Police Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Haruna reportedly expressed doubts on the girl actually being  a bomber as she did not detonate any explosives when she was attacked, said He described her as the victim of "mob action carried out by an irate crowd."
