Gunmen Attack Radison Blu in Bamako, 170 Taken Hostage!

News reports has it that about 170 people, 140 guests and 30 employees at the U.S owned Radison Blu Hotel in Bamako, the capital city of Mali- West Africa, are currently taken hostage by gunmen on Friday, 20th November.
Information revealed that two gunmen shot the security at the gate before gaining entrance in, where they locked the guests in the 190 room hotel. 
Six Turkish Airline officials, seven Chinese,  and French citizen(s) are believed to be in the hotel. Mali's security forces are storming the besieged hotel. 

It was rumored that Africa's richest man, Nigerian born Aliko Dangote was among guests at the hotel at the time of the incident, but Dangote has cleared the air in a tweet saying: "Rumour about me being held hostage is false. I was in Mali yesterday.Thank you for your concern. My prayers with those involved.".

Chinese Police Kills 28 Members of A Terrorists Group!

In what was described as "the bloodiest of such operations in months and as Beijing denounces Western "double standards" in the wake of the Paris attacks", Chinese authorities on Friday, 20th November said  the Police killed 28 members of a terrorist group in the mainly Muslim Xinjiang region, North-West - China. 



It was gathered that the killing, which was the first official confirmation of both the attack on the mine and its aftermath, took place over the course of a 56-day manhunt following an attack on a colliery in Aksu in September that left 16 people dead, and a thug surrendering.

No Nigerian Soldier Is Missing - Major Gen. Buratai!

Contrary to the news that about 105 Nigerian soldiers and their commanding officers are feared missing after Wednesday, 18th November attack on 157 Battalion attached to the Multi-National Joint Task Force in Baga, Borno State; 


Chief of Army Staff, Major  General Tukur Yusuf Buratai told news men that  no soldier is missing in the fight against Boko Haram.

2nd Largest Gem - Quality, Discovered In Botswana!


A Canadian Diamond Producing company, Lucara Diamond Corp. recenlty discovered what is considered to be the 2nd largest gem-quality discovery for more than 100 years, when it discovered a 111 carat stone only smaller in size than the Cullinan diamond in British Crown Jewels. 



Before now, the biggest diamond ever discovered was the 3,106-carat Cullinan, in 1905, near Pretoria, South Africa, which was cut to form the Great Star of Africa and the Lesser Star of Africa, set in the Crown Jewels of Britain.

  
A statement issued by Lucara stated that the gem-stone which measures 65 millimetres by 56 millimetres by 40 millimetres was recovered by machines at the south lobe of Karowe mine in central Botswana.
