Born into the family of Wilfred Elijah Petgrave and Ethel Maud Petgrave (nee Amblestone), both West Indies of Jamaica and Antigua origin, who settled in Lagos - Nigeria. Hilda Adefarasin, through a life devoted to God and service to humanity, impacted lives privileged to have crossed paths with her, in Nigeria and across the globe, through the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

A nurse by profession, mother to five biological children, grand mother and great-grandmother, Aunty Hilda as she is fondly called is also a spiritual mother to many.
She was one-time President of the National Council for Women Societies.
Mrs Hilda Adefarasin is the widow of late Olatunji Adefarasin, a former Nigerian High Court Judge, and First African President of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
She is an embodiment of a virtuous woman, and remains one of Nigeria's most respected mentor to many women.
