Trump's Victory- United States No Longer United!

As his journey to the Oval Office begins on Thursday, November 10, with an invitation to the White House by out-going  President Barack Obama, Donald Trump's unexpected victory against Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton on Wednesday, 9th November, 2016, seems to be dividing a once united country as protests erupted in various major cities across the United states.

The protests against some of Trump's election promises like: Getting the U.S to Rethink its relationship with NATO, create a special Police Force to deport immigrants (especially Muslims and Nigerians) without visa, Build the U.S/Mexican border "Wall", which he said the Mexicans will pay for, among others, some of which appeared to be racists, xenophobic, Islamophobic and a total digression from the founding principles upon which the United States of America was built.

On the International perspective, coming at the heels of the prospect of increased U.S. oil production, on one hand, and oil companies slowly return to Iran following the lifting of Western sanctions on Tehran in January, 2016, on the other handDonald Trump during his campaign stated he would tighten policies on Iran. A move which if actualized would see OPEC countries confronted with a not- so -pleasant outlook for the global economy as a result of weaker demand for its crude.

Despite inexperience in Politics Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States and is expected to resume office on the 20th of January 2017. After his victory,  Donald Trump however reached out through his twitter handle with this message: "Such a beautiful and important evening! The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before".
