Photo Speaks: Lagos Mainland Library!

Picture of the current state of the Lagos Mainland LGA Library, located along Herbert Macaulay way, Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria. Certainly not an environment one will be motivated to study.

Lagos Mainland Library, Yaba - Nigeria
Next door to this building, is the Lagos State e-Library, renovated by a major organisation in the state as part of its Community Relations agenda.

The Lagos Mainland LGA Library nevertheless, needs to be renovated and stocked with relevant study materials by the 'Local Government' on whose constituency it falls.

The onus should be on Governments (Federal, State, LGAs), to provide basic amenities and lead development, from the tax funds and other allocations.

There can never be enough 'Libraries' or infrastructures in the society. Little wonder the habit of reading to gain knowledge is rapidly dwindling.

Call For The Construction Of Ikota - Ogombo Road Alternative Route!

This is to bring to the notice of the Lagos State Government and the State House of Assembly that the Ikota - Ogombo road, off Lekki-Epe express way needs to be constructed.

Degedege junction end of Ikota alternative road

This route served as a make-shift road during the construction of the fly-over bridge at Ajah, but was surprisingly abandoned as soon as the bridge was commissioned.

Lekki Express way, inwards Ajah, at night

The picture above indicates that the bridge construction, as commendable as it is, has not been able to reduce the frequent gridlock experienced along Ikota - Ajah axis of the Lekki express way, especially at nights.

There is therefore need for a fully constructed alternative route, to de-congest the express way. People living at the Abraham Adesanya, Sango-tedo, Ogombo, and beyond can ply the alternative route, thereby relieve the express way of logjam.
