Religion and Politics!

As the actual cause of the crash is being investigated, reactions continue to trail last Saturday's tragic event that took the lives of Kaduna state  Governor Patrick Yakowa, Former NSS General Andrew Owoye Azazi and four others.

It has been alleged that some Moslem youths took to the street in jubilation over the demise of the governor, a situation that automatically created the opportunity for his Deputy Dr Mukhtar Ramalan Yero (a moslem) to be sworn in as the State Governor. Accusations and jubilations, by both Christians and Moslems  on the death and bedridden of two "Christian" Northern governors, Patrick Yakowa and Danbaba Suntai of Taraba state Nigeria, is totally uncalled for.

The truth is that we have missed the point, by making politics out of everything.
Emphasis should be placed on the well being of our souls and our relationship with our maker..... and not on what religious organisations we affiliate with or on "Who Controls What".

The place of Religion in Politics should be in moulding our conduct, so that the teaching we receive, becomes practical and consequently instrumental towards creating a favourable society for all to live in.

When religion starts encroaching on politics, in the quest for power control, it defers all it stands for and can become the greatest tyranny of all times.
