Worries over Governor Chime's continuous absence in office!

 The civil Liberty Organization CLO has expressed worries over Governor chime's continuous absence in the state, saying that the vacuum created by the absence is affecting governance in the state.

 The CLO’s position was contained in a statement issued by its Executive Director, Ibuchukwu Ezike, in Lagos, Thursday.

The statement said:  "The CLO is worried by the continued absence from office by the governor of Enugu State, Mr. Sullivan Chime, since September 19, 2012. CLO gathered that the governor had applied to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Mr. Eugene Odo, for a two-week leave but has not resumed since then.

’’The Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, was said to have been asked to act in the governor’s absence in the said letter.”

However, for three months now, the governor is yet to resume duties while the state Assembly has refused to appoint the Deputy Governor as the Acting Governor so that state functions and duties as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution, be activated in the state.
