Attention need be drawn to the activities of some men of the Nigerian Police Force at the check-points on our high ways. The idea of having check-points on the roads is highly welcomed as the presence of these officers on the roads ensures security, and brings a sense of re-assurance to commuters and travelers that they are safe.
However, when this presence is being abused, when SOME of these officers engage in extracting money (=N=100) from commercial drivers, failure which often leads to these travelers asked to 'pack by the road side' and unduly delayed...
....As seen on Thursday, 4th February at a check-point mounted by Nigerian Police Force, DDPs Ogun state's Anti Crime, at Odolewu road in Ogun state, southwestern Nigeria, do not only raise concern, but poses 'accident- danger' as the road here is not just narrow but pot-hole filled.
