Scores died in the explosion at a crowded industrial gas plant (Chikason Group Gas Plant) in Nnewi, a commercial town, in Eastern Nigeria on Thursday, 24th December.
Authorities say the gas truck ignited an inferno at about 11am, after the truck finished discharging fresh gas at the Gas plant and left without waiting to observe the prescribed cooling time.
More than 100 people queued up to refill their cooking gas cylinders in time for the Christmas celebration.
