Information at our disposal says the flight, which was coded GE 222, took off at about 5 p.m. in Kaohsiung and was scheduled to land at Magong 35 minutes later. Unfortunately, it crashed after making emergency landing on the outlying island county of Penghu, outside Magog around 7 p.m, local fire department said that the 45 had no life signs.
The reason the crash happened over an hour later was not immediately clear, but there are reports of severe typhoon 'matmo' weather in the crash area.
