Gubernatorial Election Winner Dies Shortly After Polls Result Was Announced!

Just before the Kogi state's (Central Nigeria)  November 21st gubernatorial election results was announced, the All Progressives Congress's (APC) candidate who leads in the polls which is said to be 'inconclusive' by INECAbubakar Audu,  from Ogbonicha-Alloma in Ofu local government in Kogi state, passed on, Sunday November 22, after he suddenly took ill and was rushed to Abuja in preparation to being flown abroad. 




Prince Abubakar Audu made history by being the only candidate to have contested every governorship election since May 1999 in which he won and was governor until May 2003, and losing in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Before then, he was Kogi state Governor from January 1992 to November 1993. 



Abubakar Audu was aged 68.
