Former Bosnian Serb politician and convicted war criminal, Radovan Karadžić was on Thursday, March 24, sentenced to 40 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal, for the massacre of Muslim men and boys, and hundreds forcibly sacked from their homes, among other heinous crimes against civilian Muslims in the 1995 slaughter at Srebrenica.
This sentencing reportedly came 21 years since the now 70-year-old Karadžić was first charged, after 11 years on the run, a five-year trial and 18 months the judges took to deliberate over a verdict.
